We found them individual in the store, but I am not sure if they would sell them by the plank online.

You have to buy an entire box - but it's just over 2 square feet and you probably need that much anyway.

I have a large, long legged dog who jumps on and off the bed. I don't want a dangerous surface that is slippery.
Also, does it scratch easily?

Answer:
There are samples in the store (at least here in Arizona). There are two versions of this product, I would suggest the more costly one as the less costly does scratch (like a vinyl). The more sturdy version is more like wood. It is a bit slippery, but less slippery than a wood floor (we have both). I believe a dog would like it as it does feel cool.

You can order samples of every color from Allure or Home Depot.
The surface is not very slippery. It actually feels like you're walking on a wood floor.
We have two cats and I haven't seen any scratch marks yet (after a year).

Thank you for your question. You can find some free samples in the stores or they can be purchased at Home Depot dot com for $8.85 each. The flooring is vinyl but it has texture so it has more traction than laminate. But like any flooring, when it becomes wet it could be slippery.

How level must the subfloor be?

I would like to put this over a concrete floor that has vinyl stick on tiles covering it right now. 1) it seems like there shouldn't be a problem to put it over the tiles, right? 2) the concrete floor has a slight slant towards shower area. It causes a problem with the vinyl tiles because they tend to come up. Should I level the floor?

Answer:
The planks are flexible (like vinyl) but stick together only on the sides. I would think this would be a good choice for a slight slant in a floor. I am not sure how well it would stick to previous vinyl, but the ends are very sticky.

Answer:
1. You can put the Allure planks right over the tiles - unless you have wide, deep grout between the vinyl tiles you're OK.
2. I guess it depends on how "slight" the slant is. If there's a baseboard to "hold down" the ends of the planks it should work fine, the planks are flexible.

Answer:
Hello bathroomredo and thank you for your question.
The existing tiles must be in good condition and thoroughly bonded to the structural floor. Deeply embossed tiles should be skim-coated with a floor leveler. The tolerance for the Allure flooring is 1/4 inch over 10 feet. The floor slope should not exceed 1 inch in 6 feet as the floor slopes towards the shower area.
Best wishes on your project.

Answer:
The Coventry Oak is much whiter than the Alpine Elm. The Alpine Elm has more grain and doesn't really look like it has been white-washed. The Coventry Oak is predominately white though some of the light brown oak color does show thru. See the photo of Coventry Oak with the Alpine Elm sample in the middle.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best fake flooring out there Super easy to install. Looks great. Easy to clean. Any DIYer can lay down this floor. Highly recommend using a J-roller to secure seams June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easiest installation ever! This quality flooring is very easy to install. It is thicker than most vinyl flooring. The appearance is of a high quality, more expensive product. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and would highly recommend it. July 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the floor If you lack skills, this is the floor for you! I have done two rooms all by myself and they look great! And for a 70 year old widow that is saying something! June 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy and amazing. Looks great in camper/house I used this in my laundryroom. It is so strong! We ranch, have dog and 4 kids. It is tough. I just it in ourcamper. I should have put in short way, so the cuts are all very easy.I use a craft paper cutter to score it, then it snaps. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great alternative to laminate floors I was looking for flooring for two bathrooms and wanted to go over top of the existing vinyl. I needed something easy to install, relatively inexpensive and great looking. Luxury vinyl planks were the answer. The look is outstanding and it's comfortable underfoot. No clicking like laminate and much warmer than tile. Installation is simple once you get the hang of it. The adhesive tabs are super sticky and really stay stuck. I'd recommend working in a cooler room because I had a problem with excessive sticking when the room got too warm. I'd recommend this product to anyone and will definitely buy it again. June 3, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by This light-colored floor shows installation imperfections. I used this product to replace carpet in my master bathroom. There is a very slight difference in the width of the planks from one end to the other. This causes a slight gap between the planks where two other planks meet. (See photo) This gap shows up as a black streak. I think the gap would not be noticeable if the planks were a darker color so I'm considering using the autumn oak plank for my kitchen and laundry room. My wife loves the white-washed look and doesn't object to the gaps. I'm more of a perfectionist and it was frustrating to realize that there was nothing I could do to eliminate the gaps. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy and Great Looking Took a few minutes to get the hang of it, then it went very smoothly, I did my living room and dining room. I have a 130 year old house and the floors are anything but level. The floors were too far out to try and level but I did put down 1/4 inch subflooring. I was worried but this stuff laid down perfectly, it has enough weight to form to the existing floor and has no loose areas and no noise what so ever as you walk on it, even in my house. Looks great, going back for the kitchen and bathroom next. September 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Home depot must hate me I'm very picky. I tried almost every color of allure ordered a box of each before deciding on this one. Coventry Oak was the best. Floor looks amazing! Light color makes the room look bigger. I wanted white but this light wood color actually looks better. I was worried about separation showing with the white but so far it's not bad. Slight gaps are not very noticeable make it look more like real wood planks. July 28, 2014
