How do you get rid of scratch marks

Asked by: Quigley
Thank you for your question. Try using a quality vinyl oor cleaner and a scotch brite pad (follow the directions on the bottle). If it is a surface scratch, use the green side of a scotch bright pad and the cleaner and gently work into the affected areas. This will help hide the scratch, not remove it! If the scratch has penetrated the top layer, then the plank will have to be replaced

Yes. My understanding is that this will install easily over wood flooring. I installed mine over concrete flooring. These planks are relatively easy to install.

What is the expansion space required for a 32' long hallway?

Our hallway is 20' long and leads to a room 12" wide. We would like to run the Allure Grip Strip vinyl 6"x36" planks the entire length without a transition T-mold. What allowance for expansion is necessary for a 32' length? None of that length gets direct sunlight.
Asked by: Silver
Thank you for your question. You should use a 1/4" expansion space.

Customer Reviews

Allure 6 in. x 36 in. Hickory Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring (24 sq. ft. / Case) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 181.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful floor This stuff goes down fairly easy, and cuts best with a big pair of shears, or score with a VERY sharp knife and snap. It would be much easier with 2 people. The appearance is rich and very realistic. Super easy to clean, and you can use a steam mop. I recommend adding 15% to your measure, or 20% if you have a lot of odd corners, or like me, install it on the diagonal, due to trim.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice flooring... easy to install This hickory traffic master flooring is really a nice looking floor. The installation was really not difficult but I spent a lot of time prepping before installing it. I installed it over a concrete slab and there were some low spots I had to fill in with floor leveler. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing and what sold me was a review from someone that said they had dogs and they never scratched this flooring. That couldn't be further from the truth. It scuffs rather easily even with felt pads under our furniture. I rented a floor roller to go over the floor as was suggested in the installation instructions and the floor roller even scuffed the floor if I turned it around too sharply. The scuffs and scratches you see depend on the lighting in your room. At night with lamp lighting the scratches can't be seen but during the day with daylight coming in they are easily seen. We have two active dogs that we just had groomed and had their nails trimmed before we installed the floor and they still leave scratch marks on this flooring. The scratches and scuffs are not deep though and can be easily removed with a scotch brite pad and some no rinse vinyl cleaner. It's still kind of a pain to have to rub out surface scratches from the dogs every day or two. If I had it to do over again I probably would have spent the extra money to get Allure Ultra flooring. We have that in our kitchen and have not had one scuff or scratch on that floor. Still this traffic master hickory is a nice looking floor and it's hard to tell it's not real hardwood.

Easy to cut by score-and-snap or with a shears. The patterns do repeat so you want to be careful in your placement so it isn't noticeable. Also, the matte finish does show some scuffs (the areas get a little glossier). I solved this by pre-scuffing the floor (rubbed a heavy object over it to make it a little glossier so future scuffs don't show. This seemed to work well.

This product would receive 4 or 5 stars, however one of the boxes that I had delivered to the store was filled with planks that had broken corners. I was fortunately able to place those pieces under cabinets which were being installed the following day. The product itself is fantastic.
