looking at buying a home that has no furnace that is 1641 square feet this being a 3000sq ft heater would be more than ample to heat the home . also can this unit be used to supply the home with hot water instead of the natural gas burning constantly to keep water hot

Answer:
We do not recommend doubling the square footage of the home with a unit, preferably choose a unit that is close or approx. 300 sq.ft. over. You can use the hot water heater with this unit with the part 1124 which can be ordered direct through US Stove. Also, this unit can run as a stand alone with duct work attached.

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great unit have used this for 12 years with no problems other than blowers went out after 6 years. no shame. took out of house 2015 installed a new one now the old one is in my shop being rebuilt this is a well built unit that will heat again in 2016. thank you for the trouble free heat. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great Had one blower go out in first year which they replaced free. Heats 4000 sq ft at 80 degrees no problem when its -25+. Only source of heat and has never let me down, great furnace, better than the one i replaced it with 5 years ago. January 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by USSC 1602R Wood Furnace This furnace exceeded my expectations with heating a 3000 sq. ft. house at 0 degrees F, using my existing ductwork. It can easily keep my entire house at 70+ degrees. The construction of the fire box is solid, but the overall unit, in my opinion is built to "adequate" standards... blowers are built in China and Mexico. For someone who has only heated with a woodstove, I would have liked more documentation/instruction on proper operation, with an explanation of how the limiting switch functions with the draft blower and primary blowers. I recommend to start out with a SMALL fire first, so you don't overfire, which is, unfortunately what I did. February 21, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heat to Spare I bought this stove almost 2 years ago. Last year I used it for the entire winter, using wood and coal. Its efficiency is outstanding, and it heats the entire 2 story home easily. I found the coal is much easier to control as far as even temperature. It takes a little longer to get there but it will burn all night at a good even temp. I could not be happier with this purchase and it will pay for itself with what I saved on oil in two years. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by bad blower motor Purchased unit in 2010 and the rear blower motors only last a year then need replaced. January 11, 2015
