Once the chair is complete it looks crooked and cheap! Only after taking the time to sand and paint the chairs did I realize that the pre-drilled holes did not line up!!! To add to my further disappointment was that two of the chairs broke only min. after assembly, the screw holes were stripped! Not likely to support the 400lb weight limit, the back of the chair seems to frail and unstable. My dog on the other hand...loves the chair!

When I took the kit out of the box, nearly all pieces were covered in green, gray and black mold, some quite thick.

This chair required a lot of finish work in order to get it up to snuff for stain. There was a lot of chip out, especially on the screw holes and none of the edges are eased, meaning the corners of the boards are pretty sharp out of the box. It's pine though, so it's not hard to smooth everything out. I also added some woodglue at all the mating surfaces and I haven't had any issue with racking or wobbling. I sanded mine up to 220 grit, finished with some danish oil that I had laying around and I've been very happy with how it turned out. If you're willing to put in some time and sweat to save a few bucks, then this is the chair for you. If you're lazy and just want to save a few bucks (especially if you don't have abrasives or finishes laying around) I would look elsewhere.

My son put the chairs together and it went fairly quickly. We have a pool so things get used "hard" in our yard. The chairs seem sturdy and durable. We are painting them a vivid blue for a lovely accent in the yard. I expect to spend time reading in the chairs when the paint dries...

Holes were drilled in wrong places, so the legs couldn't even be attached. Screws wouldn't thread, there were holes drilled in the seat of chair where screws weren't even supposed to go! I opened 2 chairs and couldn't complete one, even using pieces from both! Waste of time and money, both are going back to Home Depot. The price is tempting, but please, save yourself and go buy a $100 Adirondack chair.

I bought two of these for under a tree in my backyard. Seeing i had to do EVERYTHING i wasnt put off by the price point. The construction isnt the most heavy duty. The wood is on the thin side. Finishing for me at least wasnt an issue. The instructions were somewhat vague and were not too helpful at certain critical moments. Im not expecting these chairs to last forever or i would have bought ones finished already. For my use they are great. More of something to look at and ocassionally sit in. If they were more for heavier use i dont know if they would stand up.

Bought 3 from store and all were unfinished Fir wood. 2 of them had extensive mold on the seat and seatback. Strange how one didn't. Had to wash down and sterilize, will stain when dry. Sent complaint to Home Depot hopefully they'll refund. Chairs are decent quality, other than mold, for the price.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 103KDH Not as Sturdy
Purchased 2 for our home. Sanded and painted. I had to add a 1 x 3 so that the back of the chair would hold a person. After I did that, the chair was very secured. Strongly suggest that this piece be added prior to having anyone sit on it.
