I just bought one of these and set it up, light came on and went off. Others have stated it makes a brief buzz noise but mine did not buzz, is it defective?
Asked by: back2front
When the trap is turned on, a green light should flash once to indicate it is working. The trap may also make a buzz or hum. The light is the indicator that the trap is functioning as not all may make an audible buzz or hum.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Zap your mouse problem This mouse trap features 4 double A batteries used to electricute the invading mouse. The nice thing about this is if you have a mouse problem in your kitchen or anywhere there is normal foot traffic you do not have to worry about it hurting your feet like normal mouse trap if stepped on. This feature also makes it safe to be around pets. You just bate and flip the switch on. When a mouse enters the trap a sensor will trigger a jolt of electricity to the two metal plates that the mouse is standing on. The only thing I didn't like about it is you have to put the bait on one of the metal plates.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Electronic Mouse killer. My kitchen had become overrun by mice and I am a squeamish kind of person so I cannot stand the thought of seeing something snapped in a snap trap. I used to work for pest control so I understand glue traps and I know all the dangers of using poison when you have a child in the home. I purchased this mouse exterminator because it seemed the cleanest and quickest way to take back my kitchen. Within the first 24 hours it killed two mice. By the fourth day it had killed five. When trying to empty out the fifth mouse the two TINY plastic pins holding the lid on snapped. These are required to keep the lid shut to activate the electric potion of the trap. I thought I could use duct tape and keep it closed and activated like that but it no longer works. The mice go in and eat the peanut butter off for a nice meal. Would I recommend this? Yes. Am I irritated that I have to purchase another? Absolutely. Last tip....get zip lock baggies to put the mice in once they have been killed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and Clean Purchased this unit to rid our back yard of mice. Within in the first 2 hours of using it, we caught 8 mice, all on one little half teaspoon of peanut butter( Laura Scudders, Chunky) Total mice to date is 16 in a about a one week period.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work at all. I bought two of these. Installed brand new batteries. As recommended by others I used peanut butter for bait. I put the traps right where I have seen the mice. After about ten days no mice were caught. I'm not sure if the traps were working correctly. When switched on, the LED was on for a few seconds then would go off. I don't know if this is how it is supposed to work since the "directions" included are very brief and don't cover much. Bottom line - traps did not work for me and were returned.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from BROKE DOOR AFTER A COUPLE WEEKS This product did kill five mice in its two week lifespan, but then the door that you need to open to bait the trap broke off of the unit and made the trap useless. The door is linked to the internal mechanism that shocks the mice.
