Customer Reviews

Energy Star 65 Pint Portable Dehumidifier-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet operation. Appears to be very efficient as well as it doesn't take that long to fill the bucket. So far, so good. The unit is placed in the basement and it didn't take that long for the typical "musty" basement smell to go away. The only thing I am hesitant about is the handle on the bucket itself. It doesn't appear, to me at least, to be robust enough to handle the weight of a full bucket of water. It has not broke off yet, but I do take care to carry the full bucket with one hand under the bucket for added support. Like I said, so far the unit is working as it should, so up to now, we are very pleased with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top notch dehum. The rain always gives us a damp and musty cellar. We have a small wine room and den which we spend a lot of time in, but have been annoyed by the musty air. We got 2 of these dehumidifiers for each area and it's been a world of difference. the air quality is the best we've had since moving in 7 years ago. I've used dehumidifiers before which have kept our space dry but this has actually improved the air quality in a matter of days. it's not cheap but it's definitely a good buy in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful and efficient Have only had it about a week and it works perfectly in the basement. It runs quietly. We keep the house quite cool because we have cold weather dogs and the air conditioning contributes to the humidity. Because of our basement set up, we cannot use the auto drain. We have been running the dehumidifier on normal, set at 12 hr. intervals and the tank is full by the end of the 12 hrs. with the humidity in the 38-45 range. You can tell the difference immediately when the dehumidifier tank has been full for any length of time prior to our getting home to empty it. We have been very happy with it thus far. Have not had it long enough to know about its energy efficiency.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Basic features & easy to operate Does an excellent job & is pretty quiet. Using more electricity than I expected. If it runs a lot cost about $10 a month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product that does the job! I have owned a few de-humidifiers in my time, but by far this is the best ever. I especially like how easy it is to remove the basin, and also like the digital display showing the humidity level, not to mention how quiet is runs...this is 100 times better than any other de-humidifier I've owned. I've only had it a month, but I am very happy with it's performance...gets a 5 star rating in my opinion...I highly recommend this unit!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality great- wish outside hose connection/longer hose This product has completely changed our basement from damp unusable space to perfect for exercise room and office space! - (from 80 % humidity to 59%). It is finally dry after 20 years of living here. Product requires level floor and no use of extension cord- that was difficult to find the correct place - as close enough to outlet- the floor was not level. Where the floor was level and the outlet was close enough- then the drain in the floor was too far away. Wish it either had a longer electric cord, or a longer drain hose! An exterior connector for the hose would make it better as I could use my regular garden hose, but you need a smaller fitting to fit inside the unit. Performance once set up is MAGNIFICENT though- And the basement smells so much better now too- with the air quality filter/feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective in removing humidity The unit is effective in removing excess humidity from the finished lower level, taking the damp feel and mildewy smell from the carpeting for the first time in many years. The unit is completely enclosed, making it suitable for placement in a furnished room. The electronic control pad is easy to use, and the digital display of current relative humidity level is informative. Water level float on front of container is useful in monitoring container fill level during operation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dehumidifying Monster The unit is terrific! Quiet and very powerful. I've used it in turbo mode since getting it and have taken an enormous amount of water out of my basement. Accurate and easy readout and simple to use. Highly recommended.
