These Wiss shears are comfortable to use, spring loaded, and ppinted to offer the precision and freedom to snip and cut with ease. They are small enough to cut near hard to get into spaces, and strong enough to cut through thicker materials. They are made from steel and will fpr sure last fpr years to come. I recommend this product and brand to anyone.

When I saw these, they reminded me of the electricians shears my great uncle used to use in the 50’s - ‘80s. They are all metal with a nice spring in the middle and thin but strong cutting blades. A lot of companies have gone to the plastic handled shears with a stubby cutting blade, but these are great for anything from smaller electronics to tight access spaces. Better yet, they are still made in Italy by Wiss, who is now owned by Crescent, to the same standards. It’s a nice change of pace from the plastic handled shears and worth adding to your collection if you deal with electrical wiring and small electronics as a pro or DIYer. Easy recommendation.

The 5 in. Wiss Spring Loaded Electronics & Filament Scissors is a great compliment to your toolbox or electrician pouch. I watched several electricians and friends use this tool or a similar one to quickly make electrical connections. So I had to get one for myself. This tool comes with a spring between the handles which quickly opens the cutters and reduces the fatigue your hand can feel. The cutting edges have a knife edge for cutting, but are rounded at the tips to protect you from piercing the wire or your hand. The Wiss scissors are held together with a screw to allow easy disassembly and cleaning. This tool will get a lot of use in the coming months as I wire my garage.

Wiss 5 - inch Electronics and Filament Scissors is a high quality small scissor with a spring assist mechanism in the handle. It's designed to open the blades after each cut without using finger holes in the handle. The mechanism is less tiring and comfortable for repetitive use. It is for clipping small wires in electronics and filament thread, but can be used in other applications, too. The tool's well made and the spring is hefty, will hold up with time. Italian made Crescent Wiss scissors for filament and electrical wires are high quality. The solid high carbon steel polished blades are ground to precision and the handles have a basic gloss black paint finish. (I must add that this is not an insulated tool that is employed in energized wire conditions.) The handle is comfortable for holding and using the 5-inch scissors. The tool defaults to the open position, where the large spring in between the two blades holds the sides apart. In this way, it is designed always to be ready to cut. To me, it is a bench tool, meaning it would most likely be used in a constant setting - like working at a desk or workbench. Tools that close and lock are mobile or job site tools, where they can be stored safely in a tool belt or the equivalent. The plastic case is more a product sleeve than a storage device, especially since the small plastic cap that allows the cutting tip to fit into the sleeve will be lost over time. It works very smoothly and cleanly on smaller electrical and component wiring; this is not designed for gauge 12 wiring. Cardstock and thin metal filaments or the like are evenly cut without any burrs or jagged edges by these scissors are well. The tool as a limited lifetime warranty, provided you use it in a normal manner. If you are looking for a well-made, simple electrical and filament scissors, do consider these Wiss scissors.
