Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good choice for water leak detectors Install the battery and set in place. That's it. The important thing is that some leak detectors can be tipped over accidentally, and in this condition, they do not detect leaks immediately, if at all. The zircon cannot tip over, so it is always positioned to detect and alert the leak. July 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Leak Alert Electronic Water Detector The product is doing what it was purchased for...awaiting a leak, if it occurs, at a new water heater, at which time it will sound an alarm. June 2, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sure hope it works When I tested it I found that the alarm is a loud Morse code S-O-S sound. I put it out of the way behind the toilet. It hasn't alarmed yet but, after having had two insurance claims for bathroom leaks in my high-rise condo apartment, I sure hope it works. May 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A must have, can save you $$ on water damage repairs. The water leak detector will give you peace of mind against extensive water damage and early detection. I gave it as a Christmas gift to my kids and relatives. It has already proved effective on two occasions. January 21, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 1 of 2 didn't work out of the box; they seem cheaply made I ordered 2. 1 wouldn't sound the alarm no matter how much water it sat in. The other worked as advertised, good loud alarm. But the quality of the materials is cheap, maybe that is why 1 out 2 didn't work out of the box. We'll see if the one good one works when a leak actually develops down the road. August 13, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy enough to set up. Product seems to fit the bill. Performed a couple of tests and all seems fine. Only time will tell if it works when I need it too. We seem to lose our hot water heaters every 5 years or so. For this price I wish I had purchased one of these 2 hot water heaters ago...... January 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely easy to place where water leaks may occur. Earlier this year toilet leaked overnight causing extensive damage to house. So wish we had these detectors! Placed one at each water source including all appliances. The contacts seem to be very sensitive to water (sweaty hands) during tests. The alarm is VERY loud and continuous. Would have definitely wakened us so we could have done damage control. Such an inexpensive way to prevent the disaster we experienced. Would highly recommend. August 28, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Seems good for me I bought 3 of these water detectors about 3 weeks ago. All 3 passed the moisture test. When installing the battery, be sure to place it in the location provided by the instructions so the unit will float if needed. I have one unit installed inside the access hole under my bathtub, one in the drip pan of my water heater and one under my kitchen sink. In the past, I have had a similar product in the water heater pan that did alert me to a small heater tank leak. However that unit failed over time. I assume it failed due to heat from the water heater being in my attic September 17, 2013
