Q:In South Florida here. We get a lot of rain during rainy season. The current exterior paint is atleast 15 years old and fading away. Is there any reason not to paint the entire exterior of our house with this paint?

Answer This Question

A:  Hi Ivan, thank you for your question. Although the DryPlus Basement and Masonry Waterproofer is an excellent choice for painting the exterior of your house and is rain-resistant, it doesn't provide the benefit of being fade-resistant. For a paint that can be applied and provides these benefits, I recommend looking into our Exterior Dynasty Paint, which offers 10 years of fade protection when tinted to a fade-protected color. Have a great day! - Randy

Q:The last time my basement walls were painted it was with a glossy Drylock paint. Can this product be painted over glossy surfaces?

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi Jeannine, thanks for the question. For painting over glossy surfaces, it's recommended to scuff-sand the existing paint first to ensure the adhesion of the Dry Plus Paint. I'd also recommend checking with the manufacturer to see if the original paint that you used can be top-coated with a water-based product. Have a great day! -Ronald

        Answer This Question

A:  Hi Jack, thank you for your question. We do not recommend any of our coatings for shower walls. Our coatings are not designed to get wet constantly or be submerged under water, as the coating will not hold up. I suggest looking into a specialty product for your project. Have a great day! -Giovanna

Q:Why is this not recommended for basement floors?

          Answer This Question

A:  Hi Tumbleweed, thank you for your question. Our Dry Plus Paint is not formulated to withstand foot traffic, and it can peel prematurely. For basement floors, you can use our Porch and Patio Floor Paint or 1-Part Epoxy. The surface should be sound, clean, dry, and etched until it feels like 150-grit sandpaper. Also, use the Bonding Primer No. 880. Good luck with your project! -Giovanna

Q:Can this product be used on semi-crumbling basement brick? I have a 120 year old house and the basement brick is sort of crumbling creating fine brick dust on the floor. I would like to seal it. Can i paint right over it or do i need to prime it first?

              Answer This Question

A:  Hi John, thanks for the question. We don't recommend applying the Dry Plus Basement & Waterproofer over brick that is crumbling, The loose concrete would need to be removed down to a sound surface first. When applying the Dry Plus, a separate primer isn't needed. Have a great day! -Ronald
