While our Premium Plus Paint includes a primer, wallpapered surfaces must be primed with an oil-based primer or primer designed for wallpaper before it can be painted over. I recommend reaching out to your local Home Depot for more information about which primer will work best for your project. -Lina

          A:  Hi ronald, thank you for your question. You do not need to prime new drywall as the Premium Plus Paint is self-priming. The first coat will be a primer coat, and additional coats will build up the finish. However, if you have the primer already, you can prime the new drywall first. Have a great day! -Giovanna
