A:  Typically a mortar is used, but if you choose a glue, I’d suggest you use a waterproof one like Loctite Premium Construction Adhesive. It will be difficult to remove once dried, so for a les permanent glue I’d suggest a thin set mortar.

A:  I applied mortar to the drywall & trim tile backs, pressed the trim tiles to the wall, then after using a level, I applied vertical strips of painter's tape to hold them until it dried. I next applied grout above the tiles & in the 1/8" gap below, above the main tiles. The grout s/help hold the narrow tiles in place. They've held 3 yrs so far in my kitchen. I recently used the same trim tiles in my bathroom.

            Q:If I have 49 linear feet how many 1/2 x 12 wall trim edges do I need?

            Answer This Question

A:  These jolly “sticks” are 12 inches long. So…49 pieces for 49 linear feet, one per foot, should work.

            by|Aug 17, 2022

A:  It depends on how big your grout lines are and how many grout lines you have. If the tile will end next to perpendicular walls, add spacing for grout lines at both ends when you calculate, which is what my examples will show. If you use whole tiles separated by 1/8", which will be filled w/grout, that'd uses a little over 6", so you'd need 48 1/2 tiles (& have to buy 13 pkgs). The wider your grout line, the fewer inches of tile you'll need. 1/4" grout line x 50 lines = 12.5", so you'd use 48 tiles (x 4 per pkg = 12 pkgs). If you cut them in half, you'd double your grout lines, which means they'll cover a bit more linear ft than they will whole (if you don't break any). I cut them w/a stationary jig saw, 1st scoring them by placing the shiny side against the moving blade, so if they break, hopefully the part that shows will be straight. After cutting them, I use a metal file to create a smooth edge.

Q:How to cut these? Would a score and snap cutter work? Or will they break?

                  Answer This Question

A:  IMO, score and snap cutters work best on flat tiles. These are rounded and so scoring would be difficult and provide inconsistent results. I used a wet saw and it made for nice clean cuts.

A:  Tile saw is preferred, but a grinder with a cutting wheel will do as well.  I don’t believe scoring and snapping will result in a clean break.

A:  Yes, these can be used as outside trim. Although it may be difficult to use them for a corner, they are fairly fragile if trying to cut them at an angle

A:  Yes, that's what we did. They don't have a flat bottom though, more at a point so it's a bit trickier to get it placed flush. I was happy with the end results though

A:  I used this tile as an alternative to bullnose, cutting the tile on 45 degree angles for the outside corner was a bit of a pain, getting that perfect cut took some trial and error, after my first cut, which failed due to a small chip, I practiced making cuts on scrap pieces. My wife loves the look , a light swipe of caulk finished it nicely

A:  I wouldn't recommend it. It had the same finish as a glazed tile so unless you treat the surface somehow, I wouldn't expect the paint to adhere very well.

A:  It has a glaze on it. You would have to prime it first and then it could be painted.

A:  You could use Zinsser Bulls Eye 1 2 3 Primer as a base coat to get your top coat to adhere to it, I would prime twice.

A:  It's glazed. I guess you can put paint on it, but I wouldn't recommend it. You'd scrub it off.
