Q:Would this be an option as top trim on wall for beveled subway tile that is 8mm thick? Or better off using schluter trim?

    Answer This Question

A:  I don’t think this will look nice with beveled subway tiles. I used it for regular flat subway tiles.

    by|Sep 21, 2021

A:  This tile is not a half round with a flat back, it has a flat back and the sides are beveled. If you glue this trim tile against the wall on the flat side, there will be an unfinished, beveled edge showing at the top of the wall. That unfinished, beveled edge can be filled in with caulk, and can have a finished look, if you are using standard wall tiles.

A:  I have not found any longer tiles. These tiles are not difficult to cut, you just have to be easy cutting them.

A:  I don't think so. We brought it by the box.

Q:Will this trim match the Daltile Color Wheel Glossy Arctic White subway tile?

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes. They are identical finishes. This listello tile is basically "quarter-round" tile; its thickness a 5mm is identical to that of subway tile which makes it a perfect transition piece.

Q:Is the Jolly Trim good to use to frame out a shower niche? We’re using subway tile on the walls and inside the niche.

          Answer This Question

A:  Absolutely. This tile is essentially "quarter-round" tile. It is the thickness of a typical 5mm subway tile and finished edges nicely, thus framing them to transition smoothly into the surrounding substrate. Make clean cuts on both ends and join two tiles (with adhesive) to create the appearance of one seamless contiguous piece.

A:  Hello, Thank you for your question. The Jolly Trim should be used only for the outside of the tile and not used as an unside corner piece.

A:  I used the jolly tiles to finish off a wall of subway tiles...it looks nice.

Q:How do you attach the jolly trim... and would you attach prior or after grout?

                    Answer This Question

A:  I glued the jolly stick to the wall with the same glue as I used with the other walls tiles. And if you are using the jolly stick as either a divider, or a finish piece, put it on the wall before you grout. Then fill in the space between the jolly stick and the surrounding tile with grout. If you use the jolly stick as a finish piece, you will want to caulk across the top of the jolly stick to give the wall a finished look.

                      A:  Prior to grouting

                      by|Jun 23, 2020

A:  This listello tile is pencil thin. As a result it is best to adhere it to the substrate with a waterproof urethane or silicone adhesive. You can adhere it prior to grouting or afterwards--whichever is most suitable for your installation circumstances.
