A:  Frost free means this freezer will automatically defrost. This takes away the worry of having to manually defrost it. Thank you for checking with us and for choosing GE Appliances!

A:  The net weight of this freezer is 195 lbs., and the approximate shipping weight is 217 lbs.

A:  In the Specifications, the “D” measurement of 28-9/10 inches is the case depth with the door not including the handle: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/83/836c8d50-ac0f-4048-8ed9-30e6862a8ab5.pdf -- In other words, it is the depth with the door and does not include the handle.

A:  Our garage ready freezers have been designed and extensively tested for use in a garage environment, performing in ambient temperatures from 0°F to 110°F. We do not share specific design and engineering details as to how we have achieved this. In the cold winter months, your existing refrigerator is not capable of running long enough to maintain the temperatures needed to properly store ice cream.

A:  Garage ready means the fridge has additional insulation to prevent the fridge from becoming too hot inside or too cold. In the winter a standard fridge in a garage shuts down do to the cold temp in the garage, thus your ice cream melts. It will not melt in a garage ready fridge. Mike

A:  Bowing or flexing of the glass and wire shelves is normal and part of the testing process. They will bow when loaded with food; this is normal. Our Upright Freezer models can safely support at least 60 lbs. on the interior shelves (both wire and glass freezer shelves). Though we do not provide a maximum weight limit, it is important to note that our freezer shelves and bins are designed to accommodate food storage for household and similar applications.

A:  This model is not Energy Star qualified. Our freezer model FUF14DLRWW is Energy Star qualified.

A:  This model freezer is not Energy Star certified. Our FUF14DLRWW upright freezer is Energy Star certified.
