A: 60 watts is max in any enclosed housing due to fire/heat build up. The light bulb lumen is the number to pay attention to as its the measurement of light. The higher the better. A 60w bulb can vary from 400 to 800 lumens.

A: No, the CFL bulb is not dimable but you may change it out to no higher then a 60w incandescent bulb in order to use a dimmer on the light.
