Q:Can I use this door to media room ? between media and gamerrom ?
by|Nov 9, 2018

Answer This Question

A:  Siri, I'm not sure exactly what you mean. Is the media room more like a closet or is it an actual room? I guess as long as the media room door doesn't need to lock and/or close behind you. This door is designed as "one-sided" and typically is used for closets, pantries, etc. If your media room is a separate room, then you may need a room divider type door that can be opened from both sides. Ours can be opened from both sides but you will see the exposed hardware on the "back" side of the door. I hope this answered your question if not please shoot a note to sales@paniflex.com and we can discuss further. Doug

Q:For a 70" W x 80" H closet door opening what size should I get? Can 64" work or will the gap be too large? And should I buy one 64" or two 32" doors? What is the difference? Lastly, is the Johnson hardware worth buying separately? This is a MBR closet so will be in daily use.

A:  The doors are beautiful but made to fit a 72" wide opening. I can't see any reason why you couldn't combine different widths to get the exact opening size you need, but the 72" doors come with a single piece track and that make the install easy and fast. These doors are heavy, but that is the beauty in how the work and feel. It is such a pleasure to open a closet multiple time during the day and admire how nice the operate every single time. Highly recommend.

A:  Cannot answer this as they arrived w/ broken mirrors. I refused the shipment, it never came off the truck. Not happy at all with waiting a full MONTH for the delivery and then not being able to have it.

Q:Is the 72x80 bi-fold door TWO separate doors, 36" each, one opening to the left and one to the right? Or is it one door opening harmonica style somehow?

        Answer This Question

A:  Dan, Yes. One open to the left and the other to the right. When both doors are open you have pretty much full access to your closet opening with the opened doors folded on each side. I'm guessing you meant accordion style when you said harmonica and they do NOT open that way Thank you.

        by|May 5, 2023

A:  The panels are 17-3/4 inches wide each and two of them form a single bi-folding door. There are 2 bi-folding doors that make up the entire 72" wide space.

A:  Chit4chat1, The actual panel width is 30.5" inches so theoretically you would have 29.5" of opening if the opening was completely square and perfect. In reality it may be slightly smaller due to any imperfections or field conditions. I hope this works for you. Thank you.

              by|May 5, 2023

A:  The opening is 60 inches wide. Now that the doors are installed, there is about 3/8 of an inch on both the right and left sides when the doors are closed. The gap in the center of the pair is about 1/8 inch. When the doors are open the opening is about 49 inches. They are really nice doors.

A:  although the 72 may fit, if there are any irregularities in your opening it may be tight and not operate properly. My best advice would be to use the 71" and you will just have a little extra gap at the sides that can be covered by a trim molding if you choose

A:  The finished opening needs to be 72x80
