Q:Can the hardware be changed? I'd like to do brass hardware wondering if I can buy the brass hardware and install in on the windows. Thanks!

A:  Thank you for your inquiry. The brass hardware can be quoted out separately through your Home Depot store to be used as replacement hardware on this unit.

    Q:I am reading this window is not egress compliant, however, per code an egress width is min 20" wide and min 24" high with min 5.7 sqft. Jeld Wen team says the clear opening is 20.1"x 43.7". So how is this not compliant?

    A:  Thank you for you inquiry. Egress is for the opening width and height of a window. The frame size on this window is 24 x 48. The opening width is 15.8014, the height is 43.759, overall sq. ft. is 4.803. It does not meet egress.

      Q:Can you order the window with just One line of three panes transom on top and the rest of the window without the grid a single open window pane ( single hung or stationary with a crank open)

      A:  Thank you for your inquiry. We are able to make a casement with a transom and the grid pattern can be change. Please contact the millwork department at you local Home Depot for ordering purposes.

        A:  Yes, the W2500 has compression jamb liners. Squeeze to release the sash and tilt in for cleaning.

          A:  Liliane - Thank you for your inquiry. Based on the size of this window, it would not meet Egress. There is not enough clear opening. All of our customers have the same product leadtime currently.

            A:  The window frame size would need to be 28x48 to be egress compliant. Clear opening is 20.1 w x 43.7 h = 6.1 sq ft Thank you Jeld-Wen Customer Service Team

              Q:This states 24.75" RO wide. Does this window provide the required 20" opening for code egress? I know it is NOT 28" as states in the answer to a similar question. This window RO looks like it could be close, but not enough info is given as listed here.

              A:  No, this size RO will only give you a clear opening of 16.1 ft, total sq footage is 4.1. You need at least 5.0 sq ft of clear opening for the window to meet egress. If you go 28.75 RO that width will get you the 5.0 sq fr of clearance for egress the clear opening will be 20.1 inches. Jeld-Wen Customer Service Team
