Q:can you put this switch under an extended gang faceplate so it looks integrated with the rest of your switches?

Answer This Question
A: This might be possible, but we don't recommend it. It is supposed to mimic the entire switch and plate and will extend from the wall once installed (depth:1.75 inches), which means your extended gang faceplate will have to have a depth of at least 1.75 inches and middle opening of at least 2.125 in in order to cover it. However, it might be easier to place it on top of a edge hider with a large enough center opening to accomade the switches you are placing into it. We hope this helps, and if you have any additional questions for us, please reach out to: 855-798-6657.

Q:Can you install the switch behind a faceplate with your regular light switches? Obviously it won't be hardwired, it's just faking the switch is.

Answer This Question
A: We don't recommend this as the switch is only attached to the wall via screws, and will protrude from the wall about 1.75 inches.

Q:We bought two of these for two separate bedrooms, but both switches activate both wall units at once (they do not work independently - so we cannot only turn on/off the light in one room it activates both... not ideal if someone is sleeping in another room).
Is there a way to fix this so each switch only activates the wall unit in it's respective room!?

A: I have bought these in the past and they work really great, but you need to pay attention to any coding they have. When I bought something like this they had a letter coding, like "A" or "B" or ":C" etc.on them. I always got different letters when I had multiple units so I would not have the problem you are currently having. Is there anything like that on the units? If so, I would return one, and get another with different coding. Do you have the instructions? Are there any "switches" inside the toggle switch you can change to eliminate your problem? Can you call the manufacturer and ask this question? Those are my solutions.

A: I thought I had the same problem until I realized you push the top of the switch for ON and the bottom of the switch for OFF. Hope this answers your question.

A: If you do not have a blue light visible on the plug-in, check to see if that outlet is turned off at a wall switch somewhere. Some electrical switches were originally installed to be able to hit a single switch to activate some or all lamps in a room as you entered or exited.
