Very Good Product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used this product to paint my daughter’s bedroom closets. Only took 2 coats to have good solid coverage. This was going over 30 year old builders white walls and ceilings. The new paint container with new spout is second to none. I have been using Behr paint for over 20 plus years 3 houses and many paint rollers and paint brushes.

I got dark crimson and it took 4 coats to cover a white cradle and still isn't as dark as paint chip. It does clean up really well and washed out of my shirt without any problems.

Great coverage
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to paint a dresser. I used two coats of tinted primer and I only needed one coat of this enamel. It went on well, leveled perfectly and had great coverage.

Does not level well and takes forever to dry
I have used several other urethane alkyd paints and this is the worst one. It advertises it self levels, it does not. Also it takes forever to not be tacky. After several days of letting dry my fingerprints showed through the paint from touching it. It’s fine if you use on very small projects but I would never use this on your kitchen or bathroom cabinets.

Hi David, thank you for your review. I'm so sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced, especially compared to similar products you've used in the past. Our Urethane Alkyd Enamel should provide a self-leveling finish that is dry to the touch in about 2-4 hours and is completely cured after 7 days. To achieve the best results, apply thin coats following the recommended spread rate. To fix the issue, I recommend allowing for additional dry time. You can also introduce more ventilation to help speed that up before touching up any of the affected areas. Gorgeous but very scratchable
The color on this paint is rich, deep, and vibrant. It looks gorgeous. But the slightest thing rubbing against it, including a hardcover book, leaves a noticeable scratch. I’m wondering if I should add another coat, then coat with polyurethane.

Does not self level as advertised
I got this paint for cabinets because it was similar to the sw urethane enamel paint I used in my kitchen that I loved. Well I was sadly disappointed because this is no where near the same quality. The product advertises that it self levels, it does not. Only way to use this and get a smooth finish is to use a paint sprayer.

Worst Paint I Ever Used
After two coats white it is still not even close to covering the prior finish. I am taking it back to Home Depot.

I used the paint for crown molding and baseboards. I especially like the way it dries. It's very even and thick. A good brush is needed to get the best result. Definitely the best trim paint i've used.

Your product is good but the difference between you and other big box stores is you have an associate with good knowledge of the products at the Valparaiso in store. I trust her for giving me good advice and she delivers every time.

i dont love it.
Heres the thing.. no matter how you apply the first coat of this paint- its going to look ugly. Do not panic. It needs to be backrolled. Then the next coats willapply evenly. Personally, i dont love this paint for that reason. AND IT STINKS. Pretty rare for me to even SMELL a chemical. Been working w chemicals for 40 yrs. I prefer the behr cabinet paint, any day. Im using upthis gallon in garage cabinets now. Sprayed my kitchen cabinets w the cabinet paint in an HVLP and they look fantastic.
