Love these old work boxes! I have a 100 plus year old farmhouse that over the years I had to remodel for various reasons. I find these boxes to work great for many situations. The newer design allows for a simpler rectangular cutout to make the job less difficult and time consuming. Just cut the hole to fit the box, push your wires through the box and push it in flush to finish. Turn the self adjusting screw and securing tab to snug everything up and you’re set to go. If for any reason you need to remove the box all you do is push in firmly with the screw to retract the mounting tab and pull your box back out. Slick. I try to always have a spare for the next project that lurking around the corner.

This old work outlet box worked just as needed. I have used this model box before and it is the only one that I use. For plaster walls make sure that you take you time cutting the hole so that you don't blow out the backside of the wall.

I needed to install a GFCI outlet in our mechanicals closet, pulling power from a nearby outlet through a couple of walls, and this worked perfectly. No issues with installing or connecting.
