1/2 bit drill holes in my steel front entry door without any problems, my door knocker was larger than 1/2 by a little. I used a grinding bit to ream just right!

Very happy with my new set. I particularly like the "No Slip Shank" ends on the new bits. As you can see I have my old set of Black Oxide, yes those are the original bits from my old kit and and I keep them very well maintained from a purchase nearly 20 years ago. I would expect them to be just as strong as the old set because I expect nothing less of DeWALT. I also like the new not so wide case as apposed to the arch from my older set as well.

I use Dewalt products for all my power tools and like the tools these drill bits are good quality bits. They have a sharp cutting edge and drill through mild steel and wood with ease. I highly recommend these bits.
