Purchased parts were perfect for the job and many thanks to the helpful store guy who recommended that solution which was different than my original plan.

2 of them broke while turning them by hand. Cheap crap.

Worked to do the job

I measured other 1/4" bolts at 0.24" thread O.D., these were 0.25". I couldn't fit any of an assortment of 1/4" nuts onto them.

I tell ya what, I'm plum tickled pink with this here carriage bolt. Ain't never laid my eyes on a carriage bolt quite like this 'un. I tote it 'round wherever I go. This carriage bolt, it's like a good ol' faithful companion, I reckon. Just can't get enough of this mighty fine carriage bolt, I tell ya what.

They are carriage bolts. Not the regular kind. These are mine and no one else's. They will be loved and pampered unlike regular bolts. They cost to much not to treat them correctly!
