This is an outstanding product. Very intelligently designed. Sturdy materials. I went with composite decking boards because I didn’t want to bother with staining and/or potential warping. Couldn’t be happier with the end result. Highly recommend.

Good luck finding fence pickets that aren't dog-eared. These don't work on dog-eared fence pickets. My other option is to buy whole boards and cut them in half, but nothing is as affordable and easy and the fence pickets, IF I could buy them without the corners lopped off. My original intention was to repurpose my fence pickets, but I'll need to cut off the ends for this to work. Still deciding if these are worth my time and $$.

Way overpriced for a single 48” post. Assumed the kit came with two posts for that price but only one is included. We’ll be using treated wood posts instead.

Hi Dan4, Thanks for contacting us! In the great debate of pressure treated wood posts vs. aluminum posts, we can confidently tell you that our HOFT aluminum posts are the winner for fencing! Our posts are powder coated aluminum and therefore will never rust (vs steel posts) nor rot/weaken at any time (vs wood posts) when they’ll be affected by water and the elements. Also, please note that all accessories and hardware are included in our post kits. Thanks, HOFT Team!

The post seems well built but we were not able...
The post seems well built but we were not able to find 5/4 wood anywhere here in Southern California. Not a single lumberyard is carrying this size of wood. May have to return the posts.

Hi PVW14, Thanks for contacting us! A 5/4 board is a board that is finished at 1-inch. You can use ¾ boards as well, but they would be slightly loose but will work as well. The spacers will solidify the project, with no issues.
