Answer This Question
A: Hi Nick and thanks for reaching out. You can not install our HOFT posts directly into the dirt. All our HOFT Post kits can be used for in-ground installation, but you have to dig an 8” diameter cylinder hole x 48” deep (minimum 36’’ deep), pour concrete into it and then slide the post into the concrete when it is still liquid. The post needs to be approximately 22" to 23’’ in concrete and 74" above ground to make a 6’ high fence. Therefore if you using these guidelines and were installing our 44'' in-ground, you would have an approximate 22'' high fence, so in this case we would recommend using our HOFT 96'' Post kits made especially for in-ground installation. Depending on the height of your fence (if you are seeking a 4-foot high above-ground fence) you could also use our HOFT 73.5'' Post kit. Please for more information and our installation guide and technical drawing please contact us at info@hoftsolutions.com Thank you and please have a wonderful day. HOFT Team.

A: Hi Mpferg and thanks for reaching out. Our HOFT Anchor Plate measures 5 ¼’’ x 5 ¼’’and its thickness is ¼’’. We recommend leaving a 1’’ space on either side of the Anchor Plate when installing on either wood or concrete, to avoid tearing the wood or concrete that the Anchor Plate is screwed onto. Thank you and please have a wonderful day. HOFT Team.

A: Hi Montaser and thanks for reaching out. All our HOFT Posts can be cut to your desired height, but please be sure when cutting HOFT posts to your desired length, to only use a circular or miter saw with a carbide blade. IMPORTANT NOTE: HOFT Posts have threaded screw tubes, to attach the base plate, at one post end only; be sure to cut the top end of the post (an ‘’arrow’’ sticker indicates the bottom end), so the anchor plate can be easily screwed to the post afterwards. Thank you and please have a wonderful day and Happy New Year. HOFT Team.

A: Hi Ellie1200 and thanks for reaching out. Yes, if you cut our HOFT posts from the top and with a circular or miter saw with a carbide blade, then you should have no problem attaching your HOFT posts to our Anchor Plates. However, we do recommend leaving a 1’’ space on either side of the Anchor Plate when installing on either wood or concrete, to avoid tearing the wood or concrete that the Anchor Plate is screwed onto. Usually professionals use a 3/8’’ x 3’’ Hilti hexagonal head lag bolts for installation in wood. Thank you and please have a wonderful summer. HOFT Team.
