Great rocking chairs
We bought two of these (white) and we are very happy with them. They were very well packaged and easy to assemble. I will recommend that you have your own wood glue as it is almost impossible to get any of the glue out from the small bottles that are provided but you only need it in the first step. Once assembled they are very sturdy and not heavy so they are easy to move around. The finish is almost glossy so some people may not care for that but I like it. Very happy with our purchase and definitely recommend.

    perfect for our porch!
These are very sturdy for the price. I was pleasantly surprised at how east they were to put together also. We love sitting in them and watching the sunset.

          The worst ever
I purchased 2 of these rocking chairs a few years ago for my front porch, as I loved what they looked like in the store. They now leave a black paint resin on your hands and clothes. So you can’t even sit in them. And they have started to rot on the rocking legs. Also the round plugs to cover the screw holes have all fallen off I have a collection of them. I have tried to replace them and they keep falling off. I have called the manufacturer 3x and no response. Very disappointed & a waste of $$

            Don't buy unless it's pre-assembled
When I was in the store I was excited at first about this rocker. I was looking for a non canvas chair for my back porch which is in the sun and I needed a chair desperately. The chair in the store I sat in was very comfortable and I wanted it and even told the associate I wanted the floor model because I wouldn't be able to put it together and I needed now. She insisted it was easy and they had one in a box. I insisted I wanted the floor model but ended up with the boxed one. Well it's been 2 or 3 weeks now and I still haven't been able to get the chair put together. It requires more than 2 hands to do it and no matter how hard I try to do it I can't do it. Haven't anyone to help and tried that route so it sits in pieces just like I told the associate in the house blocking my way as I trip over it to go to the kitchen or bedroom. I can't return it cause I started to putted to put together and the parts won't go back in the box I like the chair I JUST CANT BUILD IT!!!

                Moderate assembly. Great result!
The wooden components of this rocking chair are solid, strong, and well stained. Instructions for assembly are easy to understand and allow completion in 30-45 minutes solo. The seat and back feel strong but comfortable for an adult and the rocking motion is well supported without being unsteady. This chair would look great in a pair or more across a porch.

                  Comfortable
We have many Hampton Bay products around our house and yard. They are usually made well and of good quality. That's why I'm disappointed in the Hampton Bay Patio White Wood Outdoor Rocking Chair we just assembled. The chair went together easily enough, I actually did most of it by myself. It is nice looking and comfortable, however, there is a crack in a side piece under the arm rest and some damage to one of the long back pieces that, unfortunately, is on the front. One of the screw holes was flat on one side but I was able to get the screw in. Not what I typically expect from Hampton Bay.

A good looking easy to assemble rocking chair
I have always liked having a rocking chair in my yard and have been on the hunt since my last one died. The assembly on this chair was fairly straight forward with easy to follow instructions and I was finished in a fairly short time. The base and back are comfortable to sit in for a decent period of time but I might add a pillow for my back. The part I wish I could fix is the balance point of the rocking, it is just a bit too far forward. It you keep your feet planted on the ground it is easy enough to rock but the chair doesn't have a natural balance point that allows for gentle rocking with small body movements. I like the chair but the rocking action needs some work.

                  Looks Great and Comfortable!
Tried a few rocking chairs before this, even at a local old timers store and found that when you sat on other rocking chairs you would end up leaning forward, as if you were getting up which is not what I remember from my grandfather’s rocking chair. When you sit in the Hampton Bay it, it goes to a natural and comfortable leaned back stance! The fit and finish is fantastic, the assembly is very easy…it helps if you have a helper but not required. It ended up at Moms and she loves it! Has the comfort and feel of old rocking chairs with a modern touch. Hampton Bay has come a long way.

                  Nicely finished chair
We needed some rocking chairs for our front porch, so I chose Hampton Bay's Outdoor Rocking chair. Putting it together when fairly easily and I was happy with its final appearance. The white finish looks good, and I expect it should be able to stand up to the elements. I would recommend that you add some cushions as without them it gets a little uncomfortable.

                  Sturdy
I received this Hampton Bay patio outdoor wood rocking chair in gloss white and I’m pretty satisfied with it. Not only does it look great on our porch but it’s quite sturdy. Held me and my son while we rocked without any creaking sounds. So I know it holds 250lbs without a problem. The chair back sits you straight up which is fine for me but anyone looking for a more leaned back chair might wanted to look around. Assembly was fairly easy once I got one side of the screws started because holding it all together at first was a little tricky. Definitely easier with 2 people but doable with 1. I definitely recommend.

                  Great Chair
Hampton Bay and The Home Depot sell a great rocking chair ! This rocker is just perfect for your living room or your deck/porch ! This rocker is constructed of wood with a black paint so perfect it looks like it's powder coated ! All fasteners are Philips head screws ! Only tool required is a #2 screw driver ! Have a drill handy with a 5/32 drill bit handy as I had to drill a pilot hole in a leg what wasn't pre-drilled ! (see photos) It is so beautiful that my Grand Daughter bought two for her Mom and Dad ! I look for a long life for this chair !

Very Attractive; Very Comfortable: Easy to Assemble
This Hampton Bay white rocking chair is very solid in construction, well-painted, and it was easy to put together. As you can see from the pictures, parts are well-labeled as “front” and ”back” as appropriate, and the hardware is in a well-labeled blister pack that even has spares in case you misplace a screw or a plug (see pictures). The step-by-step assembly instructions were very helpful and the pictorial diagrams in the instructions showed you how things should look at various stages of assembly. I highly recommend this rocking chair due to its construction and the ease of assembly. I expect I will be getting a second one because it looks great and is very comfortable.

                  A quick and easy build
An easy build, and quite attractive. We wanted a rocking chair for the deck, so we could sit outside during the nice weather and be able to rock. Other stores were way overpriced, so we looked at Home Depot for something that I could put together myself. From previous other pieces by Hampton Bay, I knew that it would be easy to assemble, all parts provided (with spares) and would not take long. Instructions are complete and very straightforward. Only tools needed were a rubber mallet and #2 Phillips screwdriver. I’m a DIY, so I substituted the screwdriver with my cordless drill, a Philips head driver, and set the clutch to the lowest setting. It goes together easily. After the majority of connections are made on one side, you simply lay it on that side and align and make the necessary connections to the other side of the rocker. You have several parts to align, so an extra hands would come in handy. Total assembly time, about 25 minutes. Looks good, rocks great!

                  Very fine rocking chair
This is a basic rocking chair. It's quite easy to assemble, took me 15 minutes or so. Pretty much everything is pre-assembled so there are just a dozen or screw or so. It has this "light feeling" as an entry-level rocking-chair but it is hard to tell once you sit on it. Talking about sitting, is it comfortable? Yes, it is. Does it rock? Yes it does. Can't go wrong with that one.

LOVE LOVE LOVE, Getting another maybe 2
Made of Acacai wood-Fun fact Very durable, will not easily scratch, water resistant, will not easily warp and highly resistant to fungus. Perfect for my front porch! I did assemble by myself however would have been easier with 2 people regardless of the few pieces, only 8 to be exact. Using my kitchen counter top was needed to assure the rockers were mounted on the legs evenly, there were no predrilled holes. Remaining holes for the seating and backing had reinforcement steel threading inside the predrilled holes. Once the rockers were placed I set the rocker on its side and connected sections with phillips head screw driver, turned the chair and connected the remaining parts, turned back over and inserted remaining screw and tightened all screws, all that is needed for assembly is a phillips head screwdriver. I did have difficulties tightening one screw far enough in to insert the white wooden peg ( I am not very strong) I used the small included glue bottle, placed glue on the screw head, inserted the peg and used a piece of tape until it dried. I had extra glue and also applied it in the 4 legs going into the rocker filling the small gaps. Used a light colored mallet to tap in the wooden pegs for a beautiful final touch I Love Hampton Bays Rocker on my front porch & ditching my old patio set and replacing it with a few more of these really well made super comfortable rockers made by Hampton Bay

IMPRESSIVE FULL SIZE PORCH ROCKING CHAIR; INSTRUCTIONS NEED REVISING
The Hampton Bay Patio White Wood Outdoor Rocking Chair exceeded my expectations with regard to size. I was expecting a smaller chair but these are the same size as those outside of a major restaurant chain. They rock easily. They have a super smooth white finish. They are porch chairs because for the 1-year warranty to remain in effect, they need to be used where they are protected from the sun and rain. I would strongly suggest that the assembly instruction be revised by watching someone like me trying to assemble it. I would recommend two people for the assembly. For example, one of the first steps is to put glue in the two holes in the rocker for one side of the chair to be placed into. But then you need to place a screw into the BOTTOM of the rocker without the inserted piece coming out. That piece is heavy so it is a challenge to hold it with one hand while inserting the screw with the other. That screw quality did not easily accept a normal #1 Phillips screwdriver. I needed to use a PZ1 bit with my cordless screwdriver. A plus is that an extra part for each hardware type is included which should solve the problem of a missing part. I like that each part in the package is clearly labeled on the hardware enclosure. The chair weighs 23 lbs. so for some it may not be easy to move. There are some minor quality control issues that could be improved such as the holes not being cleanly cutout. See the photo. Overall though, it is an impressive rocking chair. It is made in Vietnam.

Very sturdy and comfortable rocking chair!
I’ve been looking for a rocking chair for the back deck of our house. I was very pleased to spot this Hampton Bay Patio Black Wood Outdoor Rocking Chair and decided to try it. I decided to go with the black finish because if it gets scratched, I think that it won’t show as easily. I’m very pleased with it so far. Reading the information on the website that said “some assembly required” made me laugh because it should have been “complete assembly required”. I’ve attached a picture of the box that the chair comes in and another one that shows how each part is individually wrapped and stored in the shipping box. Having said that, each part was in perfect condition when I unpacked it and since it was made/packed in Vietnam, having no damage was very nice to experience. Holding the parts together are a combination of wood screws and machine screws. I was also pleased to see extra screws/plugs in the box because I tried to use a power tool to screw in the wood screws and found that they strip very easily. Get out that hand held Philips screwdriver and eat your Wheaties if you don’t drill pilot holes in the two curved rockers for the wood screws! There’s nothing that says what kind of wood was used but I can tell you that it’s a hardwood. Before assembling, be sure to inspect the holes where parts are supposed to go. I found some pieces of wood that needed to be removed, but it wasn’t difficult to do. I’m attaching a picture so you can see what I mean. There’s one other bit of advice that I’d like to pass on to you if you purchase this rocking chair: Get a helper when you’re ready to put the two sides together! You won’t need them for a long time but you will find it much easier if you have help! The best features of this chair are the generous dimensions that Hampton Bay used to design this chair! It’s wide enough for me (and that’s not something I say often) and it’s very sturdy. The weight limit is listed at 250 lbs. but this chair can hold much more than that! I have no problem rating this chair highly.

First of all, I can confidently recommend this........
This Hampton Bay white wood patio rocking chair is made of a good solid feeling wood. Not sure what wood was used, but it’s covered with a glossy white finish. It has a clean classic look. Assemble is very easy with well laid out instructions. They even have stickers affixed to the parts that say “front” or “back” except on the seat but the sides have a single plank to match to. For the price this is a nice addition. The 1 star I took off was for 2 reasons; (1) as is in the manual this chair needs to be winterized (bring in or cover) and (2) one change I’d make and I did take mine apart and made it would be the back rest (part D) is held in it’s sockets because of all the other pieces being held in their socket with screws, the back rest is has no screws and mine rattles. So, I took mine apart (again so easy to assemble) and I applied wood glue in the sockets. I’d do this as part of Step 2. It would be better if it was made with 2 or 4 screws, just my opinion.

                  Great size rocker
This Hampton Bay rocker is nice and big. We like the sophisticated classic look of the black rocker, it will go nicely on our front porch this summer against or blueish gray siding house. It didn’t get five stars because it is time consuming and awkward to build and it had several little nicks and scratches on it. But, now that it’s done it works great and we enjoy the classic style of this rocker.

                  Ready for Retirement
Cool mornings will be spent now in my rocking chair, on the front porch, next to my bench. The chair will show as white wood, but what I got was the black one. Do youir self a favor and get a helper or second pair of hands. While one person inserts parts, the other will hold things together. Also make sure to use the right screw in the proper hole. 4 of the screws are wood screws and 4 are machine screws used on the metal insert on some parts. It looks great and should last a good time.
