[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this because I have been having allergy issues anytime I walk into our shed. So I took a couple swabs and put them in the Petri dishes and sent them off to be analyzed. They did come back positive for two different mold spores. Because of the possible dangers, I had a remediation company come out and treat the areas needed. This product works and can help in both testing and identification as long as you follow the instructions on how to use properly.

You can test the air quality by just setting in a main room open for a short period. After you close it back up, allow 24-48 hrs. If nothing develops allow a few extra days. Once the results are clear, the box allows you to send it off for identification of exact mold species!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am giving it a three star because I made the mistake of spilling it all over the place. The kit comes with a petri dish sterile qtips and potato dextrose liquid. I followed instructions poured the dextrose into the dish and kept lid off to collect air sample in my house. When I went to close and tape the dish it fell all over the place so my sample had to go into the garbage. It is very hard to keep the dish closed and tape at the same time. The dish does not snap n place so any type of slight turn that lid is coming off. Usually for a petri dish there is a special tape that is used for it so it doesn't need to be picked up and taped. Great idea poor design only because it does not come with the special tape. I am so sorry I could not give better results but I am sure it does work. Also comes with a mail in envelope to send to lab to find out what type of mold growth you have.

I knew I might have mold and the kit verified it. My only problem now is can I clean the mold myself or do I got a call professional in. Going to get two more kits for two more rooms.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kit is really easy to use. Just take out the petri dish, take off the lid, pour the liquid in. There are 3 ways to test. Indoor air quality, HVAC, or when mold is visible on surface. Great way to know what is in your air.

This kit was easy to use and has an envelope to send to the labs to test. The test results comes within a week. I just liked that it was at at home kit to do it myself, then have someone come out say we had mold when I know we do.

After setup, if you find an excessive amount of mold growth, you can pay to send it out and have the mold tested. I find that process inexpensive compared to bringing out a mold specialist to check the home. Highly recommended if you're looking to save money and find out if you have toxic mold in your home. Will be buying more.

Used in a bathroom I suspected to have mold and it came back positive. The petri dish supplied was sufficient in size. The chemicals do not leave any odor or any type of mess to clean up. The only downfall is that I have to send it to a lab to see what specific mold it is. I am still waiting for the result but it has only been a week.

Tested it out in my living room & dinning room. I have mold. Now how to reduce it.

Worked as advertised to detect mold spores. However, not made very clear that you have to buy an extra test to serve as your outside control sample and that the results are comparative, not absolute.

It advertises safe and easy to use, yet it states on the lab report not to use to use basically for environmental safety. It contraindicated the purpose. Furthermore after paying for lab analysis it missed that toxic mold was present. One may believe the mold present isn’t an issue based on lab results that isn’t accurate when that’s false.
