good fit on top of "Shape Products 50 in. W x 60 in. H x 36 in. Projection White Steel Egress Window Well" Store SKU # 1005539039 Internet # 313876699. I tried the smaller size and it did not fit. The angles don't quite match the well so you need to get this wider one. Does a good job keeping the rain out. Fits pretty snug though so window well won't get much ventilation. You may want to put some spacers in to create an air gap. Overall seems sturdy enough (just barely), fits, and solves the problem.

Mounting hardware was pretty disappointing.

Be sure to really check the shape of your well, as this has a definite U shape that left gaps at the edges, as I should have checked the curvature more carefully. Shape brand makes other dimensions/shapes, so double check before making this purchase. It is sturdy, completely see through, and lightweight. I'd buy it again...but in the exact right shape.

Our home builder advised us to get this so when it snows our egress window would not break, I am glad we did because our first snow was 12 inches. Expensive but well worth it!!

Thought it would be a thicker plastic

The product was very easy to install and is able handle the windy days here in the Chicago area. The only negative I would say about it, is that I question whether it can actually support 350 lbs. I haven't tested it, but I weigh 290 lbs and I felt uncomfortable putting all my weight on it.

The well cover is average for the price. I consider it overpriced. However, I have to return the well cover anyway because it did not fit. It was about 4 inches too small.
