i bought 2 orders for planting for my 2 huge green houses and love!!

I've brought several of these five gallon buckets for my container garden. I've grown tomatoes, eggplant and peppers in them with great success. Just drill a few holes in the bottom and you're good to go!

I needed something that I could use to support a modeling project.. After thinking it over I decided that 5 gallon paint buckets just might be the answer to my problem ie support light weight and portable. The bright orange buckets from Home Depot filled the need exactly as I wanted!

I used mine for mixing paint from one-gallon cans. A nine-inch paint roller fits inside. I load the roller directly from the bucket and roll off the excess paint using the grating that hooks into the bucket. The bucket fits the orange lid (which is not meant to be used repeatedly) and also the other color lids which are made to more easily remove.

I read a few reviews on these buckets and they seemed ideal to use in my bucket garden... So far so good. They are strong and should hold up for years of use.

Have used same 8 buckets for 3 years now. Drill some 1/4 inch holes just above base for drainage and then add some stones to bottom to avoid soil blockage. Now fill up with potting mix and some vegatable fertilizer grains and you are ready for seeds or starter plants. Three bamboo sticks and twine make a nice trellis for climbing pea plants. Have had great tomatoes each year. Trying out the City Pickers planters in addition this year. Lots of fun gardening on the deck in Seabrook NH 2013 especially with this nice weather April 27 and 28!!!!!

I purchased Homer 5 gallon buckets to grow 'maters in. I used the orange Homers and found I needed a couple more, so since it was near I bought 2 Lowes white 5 gallon buckets to finish my container garden. I used the same mixture of Miracle Grow Garden Soil and composted mulch for the 'maters and have regularly fed both brand buckets with the same nutrients. As can be seen in the photo, the HD Homer buckets produce a shorter but bushier 'mater plant than the Lowes white buckets. It remains to be seen which will produce produce the best 'maters in terms of quantity and quality. ;-) I rated 4 stars because I had to drill holes in the bottom for drainage. :-( Both companys should add a plastic bag of holes so drilling holes wouldn't be necessary.

I ordered 3 10 pack of buckets instead got 15 2 packs. Why the store couldn't simply give the 30 pails and save shipping as well as all the boxes of garbage is beyond me...thier refusal to price match is illogical and a waste
