I bought seven bags of this soil for a vegetable garden. There were large wood chunks in all of them, rocks (some of them huge) and parts of plastic bags, different colors. This is not fair. it made me wonder how contaminated this soil must be. We are supposed to grow edible plants in this soil.

Bought 2 bags to plant some flowers. I noticed after I planted my flowers, it smelled like poop. I love getting my hands dirty while planting, but I had to wash my hands like 7 times and 2 times with pure bleach to get the smell off.... I bought lavender and a Gardenia and all I can smell is poop! I sure hope it will not smell for very long

Purchased online and did an in store pickup that went smoothly.Brought this soil for vegetable garden containers and must say for the price it’s great quality.

there really wasn't much soil to it. it was mostly just shredded wood pieces. 2 days after watering it a ton of grassy looking weeds started coming up. since I had put 4 inches of top soil down first and watered it a few times, I can tell the weeds are from the garden soil. I would never buy this again. very disappointed. the last thing you want when you live in the country and have termites around the wooded areas is to put wood pieces down.

Purchased 5 bags of these based on great reviews. Mine was not like the other reviewers photos at all. They were for my new vegetable garden bed. I dumped all 5 bags into the bed so there was only this product in the bed. I immediately noticed small pieces of plastics and they were full of up 3 inches long chunky wood pieces but not much soil. I started to shovel to check what are in because I would be growing vegetables here. Found so many small to big rocks, a nail, so many plastic/glass pieces. I threw most of them out and finally decided to keep some of them in the box to take a photo. I probably had double of this amount shown in the photo of foreign contaminants in 5 bags. I didn't even take photo of big wooden pieces that are not fully decomposed. I paid for trash filled soils and I cannot even start my garden scared of using these soils. I opened package so I can't return these nor I am scared to go back to the store considering Covid-19. Very disappointed.

Very disappointed when I dug my trowel into the bag of potting soil. I was trying to re-pot an indoor plant. Came across many sticks & stones. Not what I was expecting & quite disappointed in the quality of the product. Will try Miracle-Gro next time!

Nice dirt for a couple raised beds. This was amended with regular dirt one to one and has been a great choice as seen in the photos.

I use this every year when I plant my tomato and pepper garden. Bags are easy to handle and the yield from my garden is always good.

My fruits and veggies are growing very well with this garden soil. I read the reviews before I brought it and I decided to try it on my own. Although some people were disappointed I’m quit pleased with the results and will continue to by this product. I love it!

Sticks, smalls screws, wires, plastic, rocks...all throughout the entire bag of soil. Just pay the extra and get the name brand.

This product is great for all of my house plants. My plants love Vigoro. They grow vigorously and make me real happy and proud!!

I always use vigoro garden soil for my in ground and outdoor potted plants. The flowers grow large with the help of the plant food in the soil. I add more soil to the top after a month or two to prolong the life of the plants. Cheaper than other brands, but works just as well.

I purchased this Bag of Mix to bolster the soil in a small Bed Area that was Cleaned of Plants, so it could be Replanted with a New Variety. I have used VIGORO Products for over 45 Years to help make My Yard and Flower Beds look Great, IE: Fertilizers, Soil Mixes, Liquid Amendments-ETC.

Blueberry bush is growing well, new sprouts, and that's the only soil used nothing added. A little over priced, but they all are. Better to catch on sale.

Used 2.5 bags to transplant an artichoke plant. The soil is healthy. I’ve purchased the same soil a few months ago. Used for my vegetable plants.

Getting Lots of Veggies!

At first I thought this was a bargain. I loaded it with 20 bags because I built two small beds over the Memorial Day weekend. Two weeks later I realized this purchase was a mistake. The first thing I notices is the eggplants in the new bed got crushed by flea beetles. I had eggplants in an older bed about 10 feet away and the plant where healthy. Only difference was the soil. Then I noticed weeds. So many weeds. I have two bags left and am returning.

got this product and it appears to have what looks like grub eggs all through it. every bag. didn't notice it at first when mixing this in the evening. already dumped some of the bags in my raised beds. only noticed today in the sunlight. taking the unopened bags back and hoping to get a refund back on all 12 because now i have to get grub killer to fix this.

This stuff is horrible. I used this for some herb planters. There is nothing else near them. There is so much weed seed and tiny vines in this "potting mix" it's crazy. I tried this as opposed to what I've been using for years this year, and it was a huge mistake. Moisture management is horrible. All kinds of crap in it. Just the worst quality potting mix I have ever had the displeasure of seeing. I wouldn't use this stuff for any purpose and regret ever seeing it.

potting soil was soft, easy to work with sweeps up well. soil also hold moisture well as noted on the bad.

I bought this product after a recommendation from the clerk at Home Depot. I used it to fill an old wheelbarrow and plant some flowers. They have immediately adjusted and taken off growing. Although they haven't bloomed yet, I'm sure they will soon. Great product!

I absolutely love this mix. My flowering plants as well as garden vegetables do very well planted in Vigoro planting mix.

Purchased this to use with potted vegetable plants. It is a medium coarse mix with light slivers of mulch type product. I didn't find any large sticks or other items in the bag and it was consistent throughout. I like the consistency of the product as I think it will retain water better than some of the lighter airy type of potting mixes. The soil molded well around the plants. The 9 months of continuous feed is an added bonus.

Vigoro is a brand I trust for my garden soil. It is perfect for my vegetable garden. Has fertilizer that will last my whole garden season.

I used to use the miracle gro garden soil but it was pricey and not very workable had a lot of big chunks. Tried this one year had awesome results never went back!

I started buying Vigoro because it fertilized for 9 months, we have beautiful flowers and a fantastic vegetable garden for the past 4 years. The only thing we use is the Vigoro garden soil I've gotten my friends using the garden also

This garden soil is purposed to enhance native soil and should be mixed properly to be most effective. It is not potting soil for containers but rather for the garden bed although raised beds would certainly benefit. The product is a very dark brown color with fertilizer interspersed among the shredded soil material. It looks very rich and is supposed to feed plants for 9 months. The labels, which I have photographed should give you more specific content information as the mix varies by state. A caution to wear gloves should be noted as all handling of soil/fertilizer is safer this way. I am giving this 4 stars as I am unable to judge the efficacy yet but the product looks very promising.
