Answer This Question

A:  32 Sq ft for all 6 rolls. It is a good product.

by|Mar 4, 2021

A:  Well , if you do the calculation , one bag is 5.3 square feet so times 6 bags is 32 square feet , so the answer is all six bags , hope this helps , SB

by|Mar 7, 2021

A:  Each roll measures 16” x 48” which is 5.33 square. feet. So 6 rolls would equal 32 square feet.

Q:Roughly 1 1/2" thick. I built an all aluminum cargo trailer specifically for a custom camper . Would this be better than foam panels J. R. My walls are ? 2" thick .

    Answer This Question

A:  I don't know that there is a significant difference in R value but I would have to reference that info on each product to make that determination. If your using the trailer truly for cargo then I would choose the rigid styrofoam boards so you won't defluff the denim- although it dense and extreme difficult to cut through. Another consideration would be concern over the denim absorbing oil or flammables. If your outfitting your cargo trailer for overnight trips/ camping I would go with the denim to avoid the offgassing of rigid panels-particularly the pink ones.

A:  I think they are both comparable. I used both in a remodel of my rv. I have used this denim in several tight fitting places. I have been very pleased with the denim insulation. It is also easy to work with.

Q:Has anyone used to fill a heavy bag?

A:  Open and allow to expand before installation

    by|Jan 29, 2021

A:  I have only used this insulation as a "green" product for my new home construction in stud built walls. It is a very light and "clean" option compared to most other insulation products but does a very poor job of sound deadening/absorption. Net-net, I wouldn't recommend it for typical insulation project applications.

so i originally bought this product for encasing a furnace closet in my finished basement so as to quiet the fan noise and such. didn't get to all of that just yet, but this product was used for 2 abstract applications: - in my home, to quiet down a loud natural gas regulator. it is 3' from where i sit in my home office and the sound will drive you nuts.. i wrapped it with this denim insulation (no itch!!) and i cannot hear anythign objectionable anymore. - in my automobile, i wanted to reduce road noise. i actually lined the area between trim panels and the SUV's body and it really takes away a bunch of the tire noise that previously transmitted through. it doesn't weight a ton and isn't itchy so i think it's great product for automotive sound deadening. i did entire rear hatch, inside each of the 4 door panels and also the front floor boards where i could.

This is a great product that I would not hesitate to recommend. This was used by me, along w/ Dynamat, mass loaded vinyl and 48" x 24' Radiant Barrier (SKU 1000205938) to deaden the sound in my 1994 Grand Cherokee. This denim insulation was poked into fill every cavity on the interior of my vehicle, behind all the trim panels. This insulation DOES NOT ITCH, unlike fiberglass insulation. The only way I found to cut the insulation was with a large pair of scissors. A utility knife didn't work well. Pulling apart didn't work well. This does not have uniform mass. It has bits from the various fabric throughout, so the scissors was the only way I found to cut the insulation.
