      Waldorf Home Depot- Absolutely terrible service
      I am renovating a home and have placed an order (H2563-243872) on March 26th in preparation for my contractors starting work on Tuesday, April 5th. Below is a timeline that shows a repeated pattern of terrible service because of your employees passing the buck. I have spent hours in your stores fixing issues that your team has caused, and I have also lost $250 because I had to pay my contractors for missed appointments. - March 26th – I spent an hour with Paulette at your store ordering kitchen cabinets. Paulette and I specifically targeted cabinets you had in stock and had on hand so I could meet my delivery date of Tuesday, April 5th, which is the date my contractors would be ready to install the cabinets. Paulette was helpful. o Paulette tells me that because I have additional materials on my order, such as tile, I should work with the pro desk to add the additional materials o I wait 20 minutes for a pro desk representative to help me place my order. As I am working with the pro desk representative, he asks me why didn’t Paullette add the additional items to the order. If she did, I could have saved an hour of my time. Instead, I spent another hour working with the pro desk representative to add the additional items and schedule delivery o The pro desk rep scheduled my delivery for April 5th - Monday, April 4th- I ordered additional items (patio door and closet doors) needed for my rehab. All of these items were located in your store. In fact, I had the items in a cart. Since I already had a delivery scheduled for the next day (noted above), one of your store clerks said I should check to see if they could add the items to my delivery set for tomorrow. The pro desk rep was helpful; however, she couldn’t add the items for the delivery set the next day. Instead, she scheduled delivery for Friday, April 8th, to which I agreed and left the items in the cart. - Tuesday, April 5th – the delivery shows up with 70% of the order not present. None of the kitchen cabinets are present, and only one piece of the countertop. I have to reschedule my contractors and pay a $150 rescheduling fee. o I drive to the store to see what caused the kitchen cabinets not to show up. I waited 15 minutes for a pro desk representative to assist me, and she told me that she couldn’t help and that I needed to go to the customer service desk. I spent another 15 minutes waiting for the customer service rep to help, and after 30 minutes of her fumbling around, she said she couldn’t help me either and that I needed to go back to the pro desk. I proceed back to the pro desk, where the pro desk rep calls for a manager. After another 15 minutes at the pro desk, the manager said that I needed to go back to the customer service desk, where she would assist me. I took every bit of my energy to not explode in front of your customers. o Once at the customer service desk with your manager, I spend another two hours working with her. Somehow, the pro desk rep I spent an hour with on March 26th placed the cabinet order as a pickup instead of delivery! Also, the cabinets were being sourced from multiple stores, even though I worked with Paulette to verify that the cabinets I ordered were in stock and on hand to avoid a long wait time. Even though the piece of countertop that wasn’t delivered was sitting on a shelf at the store, it needed to come from another store because of how your system works. The manager calls the different stores and fixes the issue. My cabinet delivery and countertop are now scheduled for Monday, April 11th. - Friday, April 8th – Patio door and closet doors never show up… once again, even though they are sitting in your store. I have to pay an additional $100 rescheduling fee because they were present to receive an order that never showed up and couldn’t complete the installation of the patio and closet doors on Saturday. - Sunday, April 10th – At this point, I have lost all faith in Home Depot. I drive to the store to pick up the items that should have been delivered on Friday, April 8th, since I know that you have them in your store. I proceed to the customer service desk, where the rep (Kelly) tells me that she needs to fix some things on the order to allow me to pick up the materials instead of having them delivered. After another long hour+ wait, she finally allowed me to leave. I then drive to your store in Upper Marlboro to pick up a piece of the patio door that you didn’t have in Waldorf. On Masters Sunday, I spent 5 hours picking up materials that your team screwed up so that I wouldn’t have to have my contractors reschedule again. - Monday, April 11th – Of course, I received a call this morning from a rep at your Oxon Hill branch saying that your employees forgot to pull my kitchen cabinets order and that the delivery driver had already left. The earliest he could get me back on the calendar for delivery is Friday, April 15th. This is absolutely sickening. Based on my experiences with Home Depot, I don’t’ think anyone will read this email even though it has taken me an hour to write it. If someone does, they will simply pass it to someone else and expect them to do something with it. Even your managers don’t seem to be accountable. As I have seen on several occasions, different reps call for managers and waiting upwards of 5 – 15 minutes to get a response. I will never use Home Depot again for home-flipping materials. Update - The delivery on April 15th had flooring instead of the cabinets and was sent back to your store. I have not received a call from anyone to reschedule or apologize for yet another missed delivery. I went to your store in Waldorf Maryland on Monday April 18th. Sheryl, one of your customer services reps, told me that she couldn’t refund my cabinets order and that I needed to visit the kitchen cabinets department and see Paullette to have my order refunded. I have seen this horror movie before with your staff passing the buck, leaving me to spend hours in your store with no help. I stayed at the customer services desk and asked for a manager’s assistance. Sherly called for a manager several times over the loudspeaker and no one came. This was around 4:21 PM. You should check your cameras to see how worthless and helpless your employees made me feel. While I was waiting, several of your customers could see that I was visibly upset and asked if I needed help… your customers! Want to know how many Home Depot employees walked by and asked if I had been helped… ZERO! At this point, I just want my refund for the cabinets that you never delivered. I do not want to step foot in that store again. Please issue my refund.

        Oxon hill always gives me issues. It’s either no products on shelves, lack of associate help or messing up my purchase order. I normally order big and multiple items for renovations.

          ...all of the loitering before you can safely enter the parking lot to conduct legitimate business, regardless of when, during store hours. I always bring someone with me in case there are problems outside of the store, in the parking lot. It just doesn't seem safe.

In addition to these three, everyone in this department guided and provided me with the service I requested. They were all willing to help and they all chipped in and provided advice and went above and beyond to provide me with the product I needed. They should all be commended for their excellent service.

Poor customer service for the most part however there are some conscientious workers who are on top of their game and try to help. It's sad they have to bear the burden of making up for the lazy, incompetent and rude co-workers. Usually I can just grab what I need and be done but when I need help or something goes wrong, it's a very unpleasant and aggravating situation. It's seriously ridiculous that people with a paying job will be so cavalier and not care about the service they give-or rather, don't. I avoid this store whenever possible but it's the closest hardware store to my home. Still, I travel elsewhere when I can.

And while this review is late, I would be remiss if I did not honor her. When shopping for all new appliances for my kitchen which is currently being renovated, I was inundated with all the choices - not to mention the various features on each. Trying to stay on budget and still purchase the products that I desired, Ms. Bridget suggested bundling within the same brand. I also needed a counter-depth refrigerator, and while I did not see the exact brand on display, to ease my fears, she made sure to locate and show me a similar one from another brand so that I could see the difference in dimensions compared to the regular size. Her attention to details, superb; listening skills, excellent; customer service, exceptional! She went over and beyond the call of service to work with me and assure that all delivery details were outlined and understood to the letter. She answered all my questions and truly made my shopping experience the best ever! And even with a mask on, I could see her smiling face...it came through, quite clearly, from her most pleasant voice and mannerism!
