      A:  Hi Anderson, thank you for your question. As it turns out, our Gloss Semi-Transparent Water-Based Interior Stain & Poly isn't recommended to be top coated with a water or oil-based sanding sealer. Have a great day! - Randy

        Q:Should I sand in between the first and second coat? I plan on using the pre stain conditioner so should I sand after that then just put the stain on?

        A:  Hi Quinton, thank you for your question. Before using the Water Based Pre-Stain Conditioner, we recommend sanding the bare wood with 180-220 grit sandpaper in the direction of the grain to the desired smoothness. After conditioning, you can lightly sand to remove grain raise prior to staining. After the first coat, you can sand lightly in between coats with fine sandpaper (400 grit).           Not runny and this is the only brand that actually saturates into the wood. Makes my furniture look brand new. Beautiful deep color. I bought the espresso color. Stained a large coffee table from a light oak color to this espresso color and only needed two coats to get the desired dark finish.

          Don't waste your time or money.
          This product is absolute garbage. It comes out thick, like thicker than paint. I'm ready to strip it all off my project and go with another product. This stuff doesn't go on well at all. I made a huge mistake, going for the 2 in 1, stain and polly, when I say this is making my life miserable, I'm not joking. Very very upset with this product. I used multiple different processes of apply this, rag, foam brush, regular brush. I've worked with lots of stain, this is garbage.

              I really like the way it looks - don’t be scared off by how it looks pink in the can! Use very thin layers of stain as you are instructed to and let it dry between each coat. I did four coats in total and am very happy with how it looks.

              Liked the results, kept going back for more! Ended up putting 3 coats on an unfinished beadboard ceiling. Didn’t think I wanted a dark, nor shiny, finish. Ha! It’s dark like a deep tannic water/brewed tea and shines like the top of the Chrysler bldg. Looks like old 50’s wood paneling that the shellac has carbonized over time. Perfect for my completely redone 50’s creek shack.

              The stain has no resemblance to the color sample. I knew something was up when the stain looked purple when I opened the lid. Now I regret my decision to use this stain and now have to figure out how to remove and start my project over.
