Our kitchen is configured such that our range needs to be placed at the end of a peninsula. Will that work with this range? Is the side of this unit "pretty" enough as there will be no cabinet on the left side? Is it ok to not have a cabinet on one side to secure the range to?

4.4 cu. ft. Slide-In Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 938.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very pleasing to the eye We bought this as our last appliance that needed replaced in our kitchen. So far we love it. pros: beautiful convection feature knobs in the front so you don't have to reach for them over boiling water all the features for cooking you could almost want heat element protected from spills steam cleans with water you can use inner ring for small pots option which saves energy cons: flimsy bottom drawer heat exhaust in the front blows on you ( though probably nice feature in winter ) cook top not easily cleaned hardwired so you need to buy a not included plug for outlet fan blows for quite a while after turning oven off

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Never Again Installed in February and oven panel died in August. I enjoyed the stove and the way it was made until this happened. Realize anything can break and warranty should be good but what I hate is it took a week for serviceman to get here to look at it and then (unlike other companies) GE will not allow him to get the part but he has to put in the request and they have to approve before sending it for him to fix - thus at lease 3 weeks without an oven on a new product. I will never buy anything GE again and you would be wise not to also!!!And by the way, Home Depot is no help, had a difficult time getting it installed by HD and now this. Never again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dream come true! I'd been looking forward to replacing my old range for years, so when it finally gave up the ghost recently, I was amazed to find so many choices available with fantastic new features! I always check first with Consumer Reports for their ratings on almost everything I buy, and when I read that GE appliances rated as the most reliable brand? I focused entirely on their models. When I found their slide-in range with convection oven and both steam and traditional self-cleaning features; five burners with so many heating options, and by far, the most attractive appearance, I had found my dream come true! Four months later, I am still in love with every single feature of this range, and would recommend it above any other choice.

The first range we received was defective. (scratched control pad, reversed control knob, and defective door) The second range appears to be working well so far. The oven does cook a bit faster just on the normal setting but other than that we have not experienced any complications. The black smooth top does show spots very easily so I recommend cleaning it after every use and only using cookware recommended for a smooth top cooking surface. If you are looking for a range that makes a nice statement in your kitchen then I would recommend the stainless GE Slide-In Electric Range.

The range is easy to assemble (few loose parts included), but could use some minor improvements. The electrical box contains a small round hole into which you must feed a flat three (3) or four(4) wire 220 volt electrical cord. The three (3) line cord JUST barely fits, forget the four (4) line cord. The base feet that are used to raise the height and level the range so that the glass surface extends over the side countertops on both sides are very weak, and the front feet are more difficult to get to with a wrench in order to loosen. The sturdiness and quality of the storage drawer is pretty flimsy for such an expensive range, and could use some improvements.

We also bought new cookware based on that stated as "preferred" in the user manual to provide the best protection from scratches and/or blemishes on the cook top surface and it was easy to adjust to cooking temp settings and time with the new range and cookware. My wife is totally delighted and I enjoy cooking with it too. (she trusts me...LOL)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Large oven I replaced a slide-in stove purchased 14 years ago. This oven is large and has no lower coin to worry about ! BUT the class top is not as high of quality as my last one. This glass top is difficult to clean and requires care when using it. Other reviews mentioned the noise of the oven fan - really not an issue for us.
