I've owned this dishwasher for 4 months. I was a little concerned about purchasing it based on some of the negative comments. Having had the dishwasher in use for some time now, I can't figure out what the heck there is not to like! Maybe I expect too little. I rinse off the dirty dishes in the sink; I punch in "normal" wash settings; an hour or so later, my dishes, cups and silverware are clean. The dishwasher is much quieter than the one I replaced. I don't have a need to use a "drying agent" in addition to regular detergent. It has worked wonderfully for our family of 5.
Bottom line: Very Good appliance at a great price that performs as it should. What's not to like??

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by EricStPaul Worst appliance, worst experience, terrible customer service
Let's see here. This appliance has one job to do: wash dishes. Well, it kind of cleans them, about 60% of the way. After three weeks of giving it the benefit of the doubt, we called to find a solution. GE customer service sends a technician out, he says it's operating "as designed". Apparently "as designed" for this unit equates to "kind of halfway working". GE customer service round two solution: send another technician! Sediment in the bottom of the washer. Dishwasher fluid or Cascade Actionpacs do not dissolve all the way. Which is pretty inconvenient for Cascade, considering their logo is branded right on to the pack slot. Unfortunately Home Depot can't help, it's the manufacturer's responsibility. Run away from this one. Just a disaster on all fronts. A brand new appliance should not be a project or a problem.
I gave it five stars on energy efficiency. I'd guess it's so efficient because it just doesn't use any energy. At all.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by John Spend the extra money
We've had this model for about six months now and I honestly wish I had spent the extra money on a better model. The dishes frequently come out dirty and the silverware is often not clean either.
It is fairly quiet compared to the last model we had but that is about the only positive I have for this.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by KMWin I love this dishwasher
I read most of the reviews for this dishwasher and thought I was going to be so disappointed because there were a lot of people who didn't think it was a good purchase. But I didn't want to spend $800 on a dishwasher so we went with this one anyway. I don't always write reviews but after having this one for a month, I felt I needed to give my opinion because it's totally opposite of what I read. Now, I will say that the dishwasher we replaced with this one was 11 years old, very loud and it cleaned horribly in it's last days. This one is pretty quiet. You can hear it doing it's thing but it's not obnoxious and we don't have to turn the TV up when it's running. It cleans our dishes wonderfully! We do lightly rinse our dishes before loading them but they're spotless when they're done. I don't have any issues with how we arrange the dishes like I read in some reviews. It's got so much room so it's easy to wash those oddly shaped bowls, etc. I love the silverware and the wine glass holders. I don't know about the complaints regarding the heat dry because we always air dry our dishes and I don't think it takes any longer than our other dishwasher did. In the end, it's a great dishwasher for the price so I hope that someone who's unsure about this one but doesn't want to pay $400-500 more should definitely consider it.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by mommaof3hamiltons DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER!!!
We bought this dishwasher, reluctantly, without any reviews on it. We got it home, hooked it up and nothing. Called GE service and they sent someone out to repair, motherboard was bad, ordered new motherboard. One week later they sent a new repairman to put the new motherboard in and it was the wrong motherboard. Called GE customer service and got no where. Called Home depot to return it and they were great...sent a new dishwasher out immediately. Save yourself the hassle and buy another brand!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by omegawega Worst Dishwasher EVER!!!
I have had this dishwasher in my home since 2/12 2013 (4 months) and am waiting for my 5th service call. GE Customer Relations and the service techs seem to be doing little to fix this machine and will not replace it. If you must buy this machine, save plenty of vacation time to spend waiting for the techs and be sure to purchase the extended warranty as you will need it to keep this machine running.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CollegeGirl2012 Solidly performing dishwasher.
Home Depot's delivery and Install team were efficient. The dishwasher is solidly built and works as advertised, especially using the little packets of dish washing soap provided with the machine. A new feature we discovered is that after starting a load of dishes, if you open the door for any reason (e.g., add a dish or cup, etc) one needs to push the "Start" button before closing the door, otherwise, the wash cycle does not continue. Other than that, operation is straight forward and we are pleased with the results after several weeks of regular usage.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Flyerfan4evr Nice bargain, no-frills Dishwasher
Ok so our very old Kenmore washer died on Presidents Day and we are not able to afford a nice pricey model with all the bells and whistles so I knew not to expect too much of this model. Of course all the HD stores in my area were wiped out of their in-store stock so I had to order this one online because it was one of the cheaper models and could get here first. Frigidaire's were cheaper but had horrible reviews so went with the GE.
Delivery: the Delivery was perfect, on-time and quick. They use an automated phone system to let you know when they are scheduled to arrive in a 4 hour window the night before, then an automated call to let me know they were 30 minutes away, followed by a call from the driver when he was 10 minutes away. The guys unpacked the new unit and took away our old one in 5 minutes. They also gave me a universal dishwasher install kit which was awesome since I thought I had to buy that separately.
Installation: Install was ok, I am not the most handy but managed to do this on my own. Most headaches were with my existing crusty old plumbing fittings not the new stuff. It wasn't complicated, just a drain hose, water supply line and power. Make sure to level it and use plenty of teflon tape-very important!
Pros: Nice sleek black front. Deep tub can fit a lot more than the old Kenmore with a lot more sprayers. Just a few simple buttons on the panel to operate it. It's a little quieter than the old one and would not consider it "noisy". You will hear it running, it's not silent :)
Cons: Don't like the individual silverware basket holders but we just leave the baskets open and throw the silverware in loose. Also once it starts you don't know when it will be done, there is no status or way of knowing what stage it's on. Must use the Heated Drying option which adds another hour to the cycle. If you don't use it, everything is dripping wet when its done.
