CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 268 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very pleased with unitized washer/dryer The washer has a large tub. Resist the urge to overload, especially with heavy items (towels). It can go out of balance, however, the machine has built in feature to stop the cycle so you can remove/re-distribute if necessary. Great dryer. We separate light items first - done in a few minutes, then let the heavier items go for longer. Again, don't overload heavy items - 5 towels max to ensure they can toss and fluff. Very acceptable minimal noise factor for both washer and dryer. Definitely recommend this product. August 4, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly what I needed After about one month, this has proven to be a very good product. It was pretty much exactly what I needed for my new condo. I debated between stacked front-loaded machines and this combo unit and after ready several issues with the front loaders decided on this. Positives: very large capacity in a rather compact design, not too loud or large bangs (more of background "white noise"), good variety of settings, spin cycle really gets most of the water out - nearly dry when time for the dryer, and most importantly it gets the clothes very clean. Negatives: Not much- just that washing cycle is a little long, I havent timed it but seems to be longer than I have had in the past - this perhaps is due to the energy efficiency. Side note (pun intended) - this combo unit can be vented staight out the back or to either side. I made sure of this in the instructions before buying it. This did take a little figuring out to install, basically I needed one more semi rigid vent to connect to my "up vent". This added just about 1" of needed clearance (depth). I have tried to include a picture but as it was a very tight squeeze I couldn't get a great one. November 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So very happy I got this unit! I did a lot of research before purchasing this washer/dryer combo. The wash basket is full sized; the dryer drum is also full sized. It is quiet. It is fast and efficient! I had a full sized washer and dryer and wanted a unitized one for space (wanted room to fold clothes and store items). I think this was the best purchase I've ever made! The guys who installed it for me showed me the little tricks about it (like put the dryer through a full heat cycle before putting clothes in it to get the smell out of the new unit; and how to "balance" the unit once it settles so the drum and basket don't bounce around like they have a lopsided load. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Unit We experienced bad vibration problems with an LG stackable unit and decided to try a unitized model and overall we are well pleased. No vibration with this unit and would have given a 5 star rating but for the two negative points: 1: the unit makes a lot of noise and 2: no dryer alarm for finish cycle. Otherwise we are completely satisfied. March 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good - but.... I have purchased the GE unitized washer/dryer about a month ago and have been using it for a variety of loads. It works very well and the 3.4 cu ft washer tub has the capacity to wash a bedspread or bath rugs easily. The washer is a little noisy but the dryer is quiet. Since most of these "unitized" models are used without outdoor venting, I was disappointed that GE did not include a "water box" into which the dryer hose "blows" the warm air and lint. I had to keep my old one as I am not sure where or whether these were available for a separate purchase. February 3, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Compact size yet large capacity My wife loves it. When she is happy, I am happy. She is short so having the controls in the middle, below the dryer, is a must for her. Also, she likes the top loading washer as opposed to having to bend over when using a front loading washer. The large capacity is great, no problem washing sheets, blankets and beach towels, especially when the boys come home from college. Having the dryer lint basket in front makes it easy to clean. We are in a small condo and it fits perfectly in a closet in my office/guest bedroom. The dryer is not as loud as I had expected, I can do business on the phone while it's running. July 9, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst purchase ever! GE Unitized Spacemaker Model #GTUN275EMWW: Homedepot was good to deal with for the purchase: However, had this unit little more than 2 years. Warranty had expired, of course. Had to replace the bearing which is part of the transmission. A local repairman, (not affiliated with GE), had to take the tub to the shop to release the nut which was corroded onto the transmission shaft. It's only a 1/4 HP motor. (So GE can say it's "energy efficient.") Don't expect it to last more than 2 years. Will never buy another GE product. Will go with Speed Queen next time as it's made here in the USA. July 28, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It's Very Sensitive! This unit was the only oneof it's kind I could find. If you mess with it too much, it will stop the cycle and has to be started over. Sometimes the water won't siphon out of the tub so the hose has to be tugged. It's very picky about the weights of clothes put together in a load. If it's not just right (like if a shirt and pants are put in together) it gets unbalanced easily. Overall, I guess it's just ok. July 22, 2015
