Easy Installation
Seat was very easy to install and is very comfortable. It is a lot easier for guests and children to not have to worry about possibly slamming the seat while closing. Looks great as well!

Defective Hinge
After checking local stores, extensive internet searching, I ran across these reviews. I now understand that the broken hinge on our toilet must be due to a defect in the hinge design. I see that we're unable to order the part. Very unfortunate and disappointing. Like others, this is ordinary use in a guest bathroom. We've been baffled as to how this could have happened. Based on the reviews of this particular product, it seems obvious that Kohler has been made aware of the defect - and done nothing proactively to remedy the issue or make the parts available.

Faulty Hinge Design
I bought this toilet seat a little over 2 years ago, and yesterday, the left hinge broke, in the same way as others have posted in reviews. Based on the Customer Service responses to those reviews, it seems I am out of luck. I am 120 pounds, and the only person in my household. The toilet is in my master bath, so is only used by me. Very disappointed in Kohler.

Unfortunate crack
I bought 3 of these a little under a year ago, and they have been great while it lasted. The quiet close on the seat was nice, it was comfortable, and felt solid. Unfortunately, one of the seats cracked and broke and now needs to be replaced. I have 2 others in the house that are still fine, but this one just did not last. If I only had one and it broke, I would have to rate this a 1/5, but the other two do seem ok for now. If it hadn't broken, I'd have rated them 4/5. I'm just left wondering how long until they break as well now though.

Great toilet seat replacement
High quality toilet seat, just like the original one it replaced. The soft close feature is a nice addition over the original. Much more comfortable than plastic toilet seats which tend to press into the back of your legs while seated. Easy to install

Best quality material and construction
Have replaced many toilet seats over the years. This one appears like it will last a long time. LOVE the SOFT CLOSE feature. No more slamming seat. But once you get used to it, be careful in other bathrooms if you let the seat drop! ;-)
