Stopped functioning after one month of use
Very disappointed in this . After only one month of usage it has completely stopped functioning it will not do anything at all . And upon trying to return to home Depot in Toledo Ohio the customer service people were in an argument and lost my receipts and then they would not return or do what I wanted and that is to trade it for another unit . We have used Milwaukee tools every since I can remember in my family business . We have spent over $8700

Great compact tool for mobile locksmithing.
I’m a Mobile locksmith that runs several key cutting machines and this unit handles my key machines with four 5.0 batteries with ease for the day. Upgrading to the 12.0 batteries so i can do local table shows and rv camping this summer.

I used this thing to charge a scissor lift to about 3/4 power. It ran a Rocket light for about 5 hours. Well worth getting!

            Works great
I am a general contractor and we keep this in our trailer for emergency use, so far it’s powered everything from wet saws to lights and everything in between. We only use the 12 ah batteries with it because it’s the only way to go

Awesome if your invested in Milwaukee
This is a awesome unit if you are invested into Milwaukee platform. Is it the greatest power supply that’s available? Absolutely not BUT quality seems good could’ve made it where you can swap batteries and as long as you have 2 in there it can stay running but as soon as you pull one it shuts down. Is it the end of the world? No. Cannot wait to use this for camping this summer! It ran my entertainment stand with 5 lights for around 6 hours straight and I had a bad 8 but it ran my fridge for roughly the same but haven’t tested it with a good one yet but I’m sure 7 8 hours which is perfect for me in town. This was not designed to compete with ecoflow or any of the solar charge power supplies. It was ment for on the job you need to run a corded tool to get the job done BUT this unit would sell way way better if they directly competed with them. With solar capability, lcd screen to show how much wattage your using battery life, power out and power in capability would have been nice, able to swap batteries without unit powering down. I feel this unit would of been a hot item if they included these features. More weight I don’t think people would of minded if that was the issue. I think they should really look into taking the packout base and creating that into a power supply. People would be buying it like crazy. Or the XL packout box and making that into one with a folding handle. Regardless of what it could be verse what it is, I think it is a solid unit that Is made for what it is and definitely will be awesome for camping and helping me with power outages as I had nothing before. Something is better than nothing when you need power and it gives me an excuse for the wife to let me buy more Milwaukee tools! 😁……………………………………………………………………………………………………

                  Great for camping!!
I have both Milwaukee carry on power supplies the MX and the M18.. I was using the MX for camping the thing that bugged me is that the cooling fans on the unit ran constantly. On the M18 it only runs as needed. I love it so far, it’s much quieter without the cooling fans.

                  Take Power Anywhere
Let's start by checking out the top of the unit. Here we find our main carrying handle which doubles up as your battery lock out mechanism. We have a twist to unlock knob that allows the handle to stay in place in its short form, releasing the lock allows the handle to be extended over the batteries to secure them from being released from the power supply. However, this twist lock only serves to lock the handle in its condensed form (For carrying). Once released it doesn't do anything in the sense of locking the handles into place while extended. The only way to stop the handles from moving back and forth is to insert a lock into the hole. (Which is not provided with this tool). The lock hole seems to be about 1/4in in diameter and in my case, the heavy-duty Brinks lock that I have does not fit. Also, If I'm being honest, the battery lock might slow someone down from taking the batteries easily, but it will not stop anyone with any determination. The roll cage which acts as part of the lock out, is just hard plastic that can be easily cut, or you can remove the side of the roll cage with 10 T25/T30 bolts causing the handle to come free. If someone is going to take the batteries, they will probably end up taking the whole tool. On the sides of the unit, we see two carrying loops where you can attach a carrying strap if you choose, Milwaukee does offer an official carrying strap for this tool which you can also get from Home Depot. Looking beyond the handle and locking mechanism we see the 4 battery bays and their respective indicators. To test the power supply I’m using 4 of the red lithium xc 5.0ah batteries. Obviously, there are larger batteries that would work better and some of you might only have smaller ones. You'll have to adjust expectations according to what you insert. Installing the batteries is just a matter of dropping them in and clicking them into place. To charge the batteries, just plug in the included power supply cable or any extension cord, and the batteries will automatically begin charging when an input of power has been detected. All four batteries do not need to be inserted for charging; you can charge any number of batteries. The battery indicators have four different indications. Solid red for charging. Slow flashing green for almost full. Continuous green for a completely charged battery. And flashing red for a too hot or cold battery. The batteries will charge simultaneously, unlike other power supplies that charge sequentially, so that's a huge plus. When the unit is charging, it will disable all output power, so neither of the 120v outlets or the 2 USB ports will work during this time. Once all four batteries are secured, and there is no inbound power detected, the unit will allow you to power it on. The front indicator and Power button will flash indicating the power supply is ready to use. On the top front, you will find your power button, your battery presence indicator, the fuel Gauge and the over-temp and overload indicators. On the bottom you find your two outlets and one USB-A and USB-C port. One thing to note is that this unit requires 4 batteries to be able to work. It will not function if any are missing. And you can't get cheeky and try to load in a dead battery as a placeholder, as the unit will just beep as having no charge. To operate the unit properly, first turn on the unit, and then plug in your device second. The “Fuel Gauge” will light up with 4 little light bars which act as your remaining charge indicators. We have: 4 bars: 100-78%. 3 bars: 77-55%. 2 Bars: 54-33%. 1 bar: 32-10%. And with the final 10% we get a slow flashing red. As you get to near the end, you will also get an audible warning. Overall, I've been very pleased with the power supply as it lets me get some of my powered tools out and away from outlets without having to deal with any extension cords. It also does very well at powering up in home appliances. I tested out the power supply on a couple of different items and got some impressive run times. I stuck the power supply on the deep freezer in the garage and it ran for 5 hours before draining one bar of the fuel gauge. I even tried pushing the limits setting a space heater to highest setting and the power supply ran for a solid 10min (mind you this is really drawing all the power you could imagine). Really, the possibilities are endless, and I’m looking forward to being able to power up my electric pole saw in locations where I couldn’t get power to before. The only two complaints I honestly have is that there is no onboard storage cubby for the included power supply cable and that the unit doesn't have an option to function as an auto backup generator in the event of a power loss. But other than that, it's been a handy piece of equipment.

Built like a tank, but limited by battery capacity
Like every Milwaukee tool I have seen, this M18-powered power supply has an exceptional build quality. It was so heavy without batteries that I opened it up to see what was inside. I found massive heatsinks, rugged wiring and vibration-resistant treatment of all connections. You must install all four M18 batteries for it to function, and it will charge the batteries while the AC cord is connected. It will not supply power to the outlets while connected to AC, however. There are two 120V AC outlets that are rated for 1800W continuous draw, 3600W peak. The AC power is right at 60HZ (actually 59.97, which is correct.) There's a USB-C PD port that is good for up to 60W and 20V, and it charged my Dell laptop without issue. There's also a USB-A port good for 2.1A. A loud fan sometimes runs during charging and heavier power draw. Lastly, the handle expands to cover the batteries to deter theft - a hole for a padlock is provided. If you're going to use this, you'll want the beefiest batteries you have. I had 3 5.0Ah and one 4.0Ah M18 battery, and with a constant draw of about 750W I got only ten minutes of power before it beeped at me the LEDs on the front panel went from four to two. Oddly, the 5.0Ah batteries still showed three bars, the 4.0 two. Maybe if I had had all four 5.0 it would have lasted longer?
