Do the cook top elements that have a line connecting them have the option of heating the space between the elements.?

I am considering buying this oven. I am interested in what looks like a pair of cook top elements that can be used in tandem. THe two elements are outlined and then there is an additonal outline forming an oval around both. The space inbetween the two looks like a convex lense. I am interested in being able to put a griddle on this and have it heat evenly. Can all three spaces be heated at once, or is the oval outline just decoration?
Asked by: cookless
Yes, there is an element connecting the two left burners, but I'm sure you've satisfied your question by now.

Question concerning locking top door

I have seen complaint that the top oven door locks and wont open after it reaches full temp. is this normal?
Asked by: Gil
My stove does not lock when reaching set temp. It only locks on the clean feature as a safety precaution. This is the fullest temp it can reach.

30 in. 5.9 cu. ft. Flex Duo Double Oven Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Dual Door Oven in Stainless Steel is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 201.

The oven temperatures were all over the place, and never consistent. Still are today as well. I can't bake anything in it. I've contacted Samsung about 8 times so far about the issue. A repair person has been sent out 4 or 5 times. Each time they replace something, and the issue isn't solved. The last time they came out the repair person told me, "Well, we've replace all the parts that could be causing the issue, but I'll replace this other part just in case." Yeah...issue not solved. The first time they came out the repair person told me that this oven has a known issue of the computer not working correctly and needing to be replaced. Apparently Samsung sent out an email to their repair company warning them about the issue. So now I've had all parts that have anything even tangentially related to heating replaced, and my oven is still unusable to bake anything. It's been 7 months. The most recent Samsung customer service representative I spoke with told me that in order to deem the unit unrepairable, the repair person has to actually call Samsung customer service while on site with the oven. I find that irritating since the last time he was here, the guy told me that they had now replaced everything related to heating that is replaceable. And don't even get me started on how frustrating the Samsung customer service reps have been: repeatedly cancelling my service requests without even speaking to me first, not calling me back after accidentally hanging up on me (after I've been on hold for an hour and doing the whole "unplug the unit and plug it back in" for 30 minutes), repeatedly sending my repair requests to the wrong city, not updating my information in their system after telling me they have, asking for my oven serial number multiple times (don't they document that information?), etc., etc. Do NOT buy this oven.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the money Love the sleek new black stainless steel. The burners heat up fast and boil water in no time. Thought I'd never use the griddle feature but bought a griddle and love it. Well worth the investment

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Convection fan seized three months out of warranty I really like the look of the range and the dual oven was great until the top convection fan starter making a horrible noise, the seized. It is three months past the warranty. The range lasted a year and three months before it broke. Way too much money for something that didn't last very long.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Overall with Some Limitations We've just used the oven for the first time and we needed to cook two different items at different temps. Something I did not expect to encounter were limitations in the temp differences between the two sections. For example, I wanted to cook one item at 350 and another at 425. It wouldn't let me go any higher than 400 on the second oven. We were able to make it work, but were disappointed to learn that there would be issues when cooking two items at varying temperatures. We certainly did like being able to finally cook two things at once! The top burners heat very quickly compared to our 14 year old glass top we replaced. That was a nice surprise. Overall, good, but not the home run I was hoping for.

Purchased 11/16, The cooktop works awesome, but we had nothing but problems with the ovens. The ovens take a long time to preheat, there is a display that shows the internal temperature as it warms up but it is not correct (verified by multiple thermometers), it takes 15-20 minutes to reach the desired temperature. When using conventional oven (non-convection using the entire oven) the oven would be 100 degrees F off of the desired temperature (set to 400F actual would be 300F). This lead to under cooked dishes, and long cook times. We had Samsung out to repair the oven 4 times over 9 months, two of those times they replaced the main electronics board and the temperature sensors, all to no avail. When using convection the oven would only be off by 10-15 degrees (totally reasonable). The warming drawer was pretty awesome as well, we used it to keep pancakes warm when making a bunch. The top of the oven door gets really warm while using the oven, not necessarily bad, just an observation. Overall this oven is a great concept, terrible execution. Hopefully we just got a bad one. Samsung was good in that they refunded our purchase.

We had a problem with the front burners boiling when set on the lowest setting. The first service person said it was working fine as he carried on a personal phone call. A second person (requested a different company) brought two switches and replaced them as it was not doing the on/off function properly. It did take another trip as the schematic showed him the wrong part to bring. Called Samsung again today as my wife still has meals burning as the lowest setting on the front burners still gradually brings the food to a boil. The Samsung rep tells me that this is the way the stove works and is normal (lowest setting brings food up to a boil). This is not what we expected buying a name brand product. Think about it the lowest temperature is designed to boil food.

We bought this stove three months ago and found out at Christmas time that our 14lb turkey, after 5 hours of being in the oven at 350 degrees, was only half done. I read a review that suggested buying an oven thermometer and testing the operation of this oven. So I did and holly cow was I surprised to find out that when we selected a 350 degree temperature the pre-heat time bell would play at the 8 minute mark yet when I checked the oven thermometer it read only 225 degrees. I waited an additional 20 minutes, 28 in total, for the oven to actually reach the 350 degree mark. That is this ovens first fail. The second fail was that every time the oven door was opened to baste the turkey the oven temperature would fall down to around the 250 degree mark and it would take almost 30 minutes to get back up to the 350 degree mark. Just in time to baste the turkey again. So in all actuality a cooked turkey was not going to be on the menu for Christmas dinner. We had a repair man come in and duplicate the findings. He replaced the main computer board which did not fix the problem. He then replaced the PCI console board which did not fix the preheat problem but did better the reheat time when the door was opened for one minute from 30 minutes to 10 minutes. This was a onetime test by the repair man and I suspect that my next couple of test will confirm the original failures. In conclusion: This stove’s 350 degree preheat timer bell will ring at the 8 minute mark but the ovens actual temperature will be around 225 degrees. It will need an additional 20 minutes for the oven to reach the 350 degree mark totaling 30 minutes. This was the best test using the single oven convection bake option. The other smaller oven tests were much worse. This oven also cooks unevenly. The cookies at the back of the oven will cook sooner than the ones in the middle and front of the oven. “DON’T BUY THIS STOVE”

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looks great with great functionality!! Love cooking on this stove top! Still getting used to the temperature controls. The double oven was a big feature that I was looking for and is a time saver when baking and roasting at the same time. Solid construction and good looks made this a great addition to my kitchen remodel after a flood. I am very pleased with my purchase. No buyers remorse with this range!
