Correct setting for fresh or frozen pizza without burnt crust edges?

This question is from 30 in. 5.9 cu. ft. Flex Duo Double Oven Electric Range with Self-Cleaning Convection Dual Door Oven in Stainless Steel

I have tried using the upper oven, but the bottom of the crust never bakes thoroughly unless I turn the pizza edges and toppings to a blackened crisp.

I tried the lower oven on the middle rack once, and again on the lowest rack to try to get the crust right. Still no joy... To get the center of the crust baked, the edges of the pizza are again burnt to nearly black.

I've tried convection and no convection. I cannot seem to find the sweet spot.

Any advice to getting a pizza to bake evenly? Proper placement? Convection or not?

Thank you!

Answer:
In Delaware, new code states that appliance must be plugged into an electrical box. Since my old stove was hard wired directly, I asked too about the plug necessary. Apparently, you have to buy brand new plug with appliance -- it can be either 3 prong or 4 prong depending on the outlet your electrician installs.
I have a 3 prong.

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 153 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New stove, new capability The dual or single oven is quite interesting. We started using the upper oven, and because of the size it preheats much faster than the old oven. Burners work fine too, I found that Sur La Table (#2187029) has a griddle that is a good fit for this stove, the heat distribution looks good with my infrared thermometer, great for french toast or pancakes with a setting of 4 or 5 on the burners. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Oven Heats up very fast and the double oven is great especially when preparing small meals. October 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Totally in love with this range! I live in a cozy historic home in Oregon and my kitchen layout is not typical. I was able to place this freestanding range in a recessed space originally designed to house a wooden oak ice box. I also placed a wall mounted microwave that vents above it. The cooking center and range work wonderfully. I find the double ovens cook accurately with the recommendations of my receipes as well as those on frozen baked items. I do check in the last 5 to 10 minutes just to be sure. Papa Murphy pizzas, one in each oven at different temperatures cook beautifully and generally on the fastest recommended times in the instructions. You can toggle the oven lights on and off easily to check without opening the doors. The push button handle that allows you to open just the top oven door alone is genius and I love the warming drawer, too. The ceramic top cleans easily with the special cleanser and all the burners perform as advertised. The controls look a bit daunting at first, but it only takes one reading of the instructions to master them. My only concern is finding a good quality griddle/pan to fit the bridged units of the cooktop. I wish the range had come with one as an optional purchase! If anyone has a suggestion, please post a review with a resource. I highly recommend this range and have enjoyed using all of the special features. I looked for a very long time for a double oven range and was fortunate to find this one at Home Depot and purchased it during a major sale. It is well worth it's price. October 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WOW I just installed this stove and I am amazed. It is heavier than I expected so make sure you have help if you decide to install yourself. The stove looks and feels well built. The rapid boil feature works well. One note for double oven users: using the stove in dual oven mode does seem to cook food faster due to the small space of each oven. Like any small oven one needs to compensate for this and lower the time and heat setting approx. 15 degrees to avoid overcooking/ burning ones meal. One will need to experiment with this to get used to the smaller oven. With the oven divider out and using the oven in regular size, there isn't an issue with overcooking and /or needing to adjust the heat and time. Yes it is pricey but you get what you pay for with this unit. Very pleased with this stove. Got to rework cabinets as I had a 40 inch unit previously. April 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never Worked Upon delivery, discovered timer wasn't working. Then realized temperature was off. After three repairs over a two month period, still without a working range, fought with Samsung about a refund. Spent countless hours on the phone with them. Very frustrating!! September 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Inaccurate temps I searched & read many reviews on tons of ranges! As a home baker, the oven feature is very important. I settled on the Samsung flex duo because of the obvious....use the oven as a single or double. With the partition in, the top can only cook in convection, the bottom or the oven as a whole can cook in both options. As an avid baker, I know while using convection, you need to lower the temp 25 degrees. I started my first cake order in the oven as a whole on regular bake, it took FOREVER! I knew immediately the internal thermostat was off. I pop in my oven thermostat and its off by 50 degrees! The manual calibration only lets you go up or down 30 degrees. I did that and then the oven was reading 20 degrees hotter! Frustrated I checked the individual oven and those were also off. I couldn't fix myself. Called Samsung, took almost 2 weeks for a service to be done. He came today (August 12) and fixed the oven as a whole, but could not fix the individual ovens. Top reads 20 degrees cooler, bottom reads 30 degrees hotter. This problem just isn't going to work for someone who is a baker professionally. If I didn't bake all the time or need to use the double ovens and have constant results, I probably wouldn't care. And yes I could remember to adjust what I set the oven to reflect it, but it changes daily depending if I'm using both, one, etc. on other notes, people COMPLAIN A LOT about the buttons for the oven controls. I find that they think just by touching (like a touchscreen phone) it will work, no you have to push and it's really not that bad. People complain about the glass top, I personally LOVE the glass top. Get pans that fit to them, rounded corners etc won't work. You need flat pans. Get a glass surface cleaner, use it!! Soap & water won't work. And you do need to clean the top every day. So if you're lazy, don't buy a glass top surface! Other than what my personal issues are, I'm replacing with the basic Samsung version on this. I've had a fridge, washer & dryer...they haven't let me down yet. August 12, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great except that the "fast boil" burner is super slow I really love this range and in particular the top oven. I live in Florida and it saves me so much heat to be able to just use the top oven. My only complaint is that the "fast burner" on the front right side is super slow. It takes about twice the time as the other burners to boil water. One cup takes about 4.5 minutes - yes, minutes. It took me a couple of months to realize this. I called Samsung about it several times but they refuse to come out and even look at it. They said that if it was always that way, then it's not broken. It's frustrating to always have to use the back burner to boil water. For this price, I should be able to use all the burners. June 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stove with Perks In that I just received item yesterday, reviewing would not be possible. What I can tell you is that it has a lot of features, looks great, and got for a excellent price compared to other places I shopped at. May 22, 2016
