Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 184 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fits just fine You are probably looking at this refrigerator for the same reason I did -limited space. If you can only fit one in your are limited to the models you can buy. So, after looking and looking, we decided to go with the Samsung. We are replacing the Frigidaire that seems to be the standard for this application. The old refrigerator is 12 years old. We could of fixed it but it's 12 years old (guess what the average life of a refrigerator is). Plus my wife hated that one. Anyway you can get that fridge the next day,. if you want to upgrade you wait 10 days. Well the Samsung is the same exact dimensions as that model but has new technology behind it. The Frigidaire has a space for an ice maker but I've never seen anyone actually install one because it takes up half the space of the freezer. The Samsung cleverly installs it in the roof of the unit. This results in a freezer almost twice the size of the Frigidaire. We looked at bottom freezer models but they had a fresh food area that was 2 cf LESS than what we had. Unacceptable. The Samsung has a fresh food compartment that is about 1 cf bigger plus the freezer is bigger as I mentioned. It seems very well built and seals very tightly. The ice maker seems a little overkill - it makes 4 lbs a day. Most people that get this unit don't need that much ice a day. I imagine they make one size and use it in a lot of models. The LED lights are a nice touch, very adequate. The foot print doesn't seem to be much different from the old one. In other words it doesn't stick out into the kitchen much if any more than the old one. Now to the negatives. Number one is the price. Apparently if you need a specific size you pay through the nose AND wait 10 days for the privilege. Larger models with more features were on sale when we bought it (in door water etc( for $999. We had to pay over $500 more for this one. Samsung isn't alone with this every other manufacturer does the same. I guess it subsidizes the cost of putting the larger ones on sale. Next, french doors look nice but they aren't as functional in my opinion. We couldn't fit all the tall items in the doors and couldn't in our own unit. Well I adjusted one side but when you do, the space between the top and the bottom shelves is very narrow. So you really can only adjust one side, unless you want to remove the middle shelves. It all worked out but I have to laugh at the pictures of the refrigerator "stocked". Those people must eat really poorly lol. Another thing I'd wish they'd fix is that there is no "list of things you need for the installation". A simple list would go far for the people who are unsure what items to have on hand. When I contacted Home Depot they told me that I'd have to contact Samsung. I contacted Samsung and told them that I was looking in the manual and it had arrows pointing at "items provided" and did I need the other ones? Their advise was "contact a reputable installer". O.k. WHAT do I need to have on hand when the installer comes? No clue. I went to my local plumbing supply house and got the items I needed to install an ice maker (none had ever been installed) BTW, no filter is included so you can buy the OEM product for $50 that lasts 6 months or buy an aftermarket one that lasts 5 years for $32. You can guess which one I got. One thing to get used to are the doors. Compared to the old style that automatically closes when you let it go, these take "two men and a boy" to close. You have to firmly push them closed. Probably provides a better seal though. A alarm sounds when you leave them open more than 3 min. This model does NOT have a way to turn the alarm off. So all in all it's (so far) a great refrigerator. Quiet, keeps things at a constant temp, freezes quickly and does all the things a fridge should. Samsung had the better overall reviews than the other brands even though you have the occasional bad experience. I read one survey that said it had the fewest complains for repair overall than most of the brands. Frankly, the Samsung had the quickest delivery of anything we looked at. Some brands had a delivery date in October! We needed one ASAP thank you very much. How many people have the luxury of saying "I think the fridge is going out, lets shop for one". No, BAM, they go out. Anyway, we got one, I recommend it and I'd tell everyone if I felt I got "taken". August 16, 2016

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by it was a good buy the second frig is great! The first one had a big dent and scratch in it. took some more time but they got it right March 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Holds a lot for it's size. Everything is located at your fingertips in the refridgerator and on the doors and the lights work great. The shelfs adjust easilly and the bottom freezer drawer puts the ice bucket and the lower main freezer storage at your reach with out getting on your knees. It is very styish with quiet opperation. Had it for 2 weeks and love it. September 5, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JUNK Frig Unit burned up after 5 weeks we have been with out a frig now for 9 days and its friday so i dont expect anything anytime soon terrible customer service from Samsung , i was told i could be with out a frig for 3 weeks January 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exceptionally satisfied! Not only does the refrigerator fit perfectly in a smaller space, but looks just like larger models and is very spacious and well organized. It's exactly what I wanted -- bottom freezer drawer that has an upper and lower compartment, terrific ice maker, and deep compartments above with a GREAT bottom drawer beneath the fruit and vegetable drawers for cheese, butter, etc. September 1, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Samsung bought this as a black Friday deal in 2013 great price and value at the time. Within a year the bottom drawer handle broke Samsung fixed that under warranty no problem. Now I'm getting water in the left bin and the warranty is up. August 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Really love our new fridge. We finally let go of our old Whirlpool which was nearly 30 years old. It is so wonderful to have the freezer on the bottom and the refrigerator at face level (depending on your height). The interior is so bright, nothing can hide and all the leftovers, or new food, are where you can see it. The pop gets really cold without freezing the lettuce. It feels like a real luxury. I wish there had been one in the size we needed (under 65") that had the refrigerator drawer separate from the french doors. Also would have loved a water and ice dispenser in the door, but even at that, I love my new fridge. And the delivery man was very courteous, knew what he was doing and fast. August 25, 2016
