Had this product for 10 days and it doesn't work, specifically the freezer portion will not cool down. The freezer stays at constant 57 degrees, and the control panel infrequently just locks you out. Initial contact with Samsung was not helpful, and I quote Samsung “if you didn’t have professional installation for your refrigerator, we will not help you”. Kudos to Home Depot who is going to replace the product. Only concern now is Samsung who apparently requires a professional to plug-in the cord to the outlet, and any future support for this product. I have called Samsung back and they refuse to answer the question. Best of luck to any Samsung refrigerator owners.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dead on arrival Ordered this fridge. It took four delivery attempts for the delivery people to show up. As the refrigerator niche was not ready, it sat in the crate a few weeks awaiting installation. When we plugged it in, it was a brick. No hum, no buzz, no lights, no nothing. Neither Home Depot nor Samsung would replace this unit. Waited several days for tech's diagnosis, two weeks for parts to arrive. Tech comes back tomorrow sometime between 8 and 5. Maybe tomorrow we will have some refrigeration. Would have thought we would have been offered a new unit or at least a rebate and an extended warranty on this now reconditioned unit. Frustrating process.

Two weeks after getting we had an error code, turned out to be the ice maker. Service guy comes out, can't repair doesn't have part, reschedules for next week. Repair guy comes out the next week, can't repair, maybe I have one on truck and I can replace it. Nope, reschedules for next week. Next week no call, no show. Following week calling to say they are going to exchange the refrigerator? What? Exchange? For a new one??? A used one??? We are to email them our receipt. Next week calling to say they will send us a check for purchase price. What? What about service Policy? "You'll have to work that out with Home Depot." What about the hundreds of dollars in sales tax????? The refrigerator works great, except for the ice maker, we love it, but at this point it looks like we are out close to $1K, AND have to go back on the hunt for a new fridge. NO FUN!!!! Avoid these headaches, DO NOT BUY!!!!!

We recently purchased this refrigerator and after about 3 week, the ice maker began to make a really ugly noise and stopped working. When I attempted to pull the ice bucket out, I found it was frozen in place. After a bit of jiggling and tugging, I finally got it out to find the bottom of the ice compartment, the mechanism in the rear and the ice maker covered in ice. Turns out the little plastic water line can get pushed in too far, causing he water to splash while filling the ice tray and then freeze up solid. After searching on the web I found a samsung service bulletin (ASC20150717001) with the fix - just had to pull the water line out from behind about 1/3 of an inch - and no more ice up (after a couple of days). Seems odd this isn't a more rigid mount - people have been complaining about this problem for a couple of years on the web. The attached photo is after I defrosted it once and let it run over night - you can see the ice starting to build. Other than that, we do like the fridge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just loving my fridge. The water and ice dispenser... Just loving my fridge. The water and ice dispenser make it so much easier to get and in the cold flu season keep germs from being shared. The middle drawer is my perfect deli and cheese storage. All areas have great storage and lighting. The size just fit the kitchen size limitations.

First time, per the Samsung Repair tech, the water, ice dispenser sensor in the electronic mother board was not working and it would cost $400 to replace. The fridge was 4 months old and this was not covered u dear warrenty. I also ended up having to pay for the tech to come out for a diagnosis! At the time and I decided that I would do with out ice and water, I didn't pay to have it fixed. (good thing, technician was wrong, my dad fixed the broken mechanism with a rubber band, still works as of today! Second time it broke, water stopped pumping to the ice maker and water. Fridge was almost 2 years old at the time... Not under warrenty. We buy our ice now, this we can't figure out and it is probably in the mother board of the electric panel. Lastly, the filter sensor even when I'm not using the ice and water still indicates that it needs to be replaced. I don't know what causes the sensor to light up, but it's wrong. Caution to those buying this fridge, don't replace the filter just because the light turns on. Judge the decision based on your usage of ice and water from the fridge. I won't be buying a Samsung again. I've have problems with other appliances manufacturered by them. LG is WAY more reliable!

More useful than anything we've ever had. Love the top drawer. We use it for leftovers, so they can be easily found. The bottom freezer is also very good with separate compartments, a shelf in the drawer and a sliding drawer on top to provide easy access to frequently used things. Now, the Bad: The ice maker. First the problem, then my assessment of the faulty design. We've had it over a year, so we are out of warranty. The ice maker started leaking at at month 7 of ownership, it was replaced. In talking with the repair man, these are known Samsung issues, and it's just a bad design (more in a minute.) So, it stopped working today at month 14 of ownership and we can pay several hundred dollars to have it replaced again. The design problem, as explained by the tech who came out - and logic. The ice maker is in the refrigerator (34-degrees). So, the warmer refrigerator air gets into the maker and causes condensation and leakage. When using the crunch mode, this makes it worse because there are shavings left in the discharge shoot. Also, when opening and closing the left door, you are breaking the seal between the ice maker and shoot allowing room temperature in, further exacerbating the problem. So, we have a $2,700 item on which the ice maker will be a recurring expense of several hundred dollars. I would not purchase this, or any unit, where the ice maker is in the refrigerator compartment. The problem is obvious - simply bad design. What I would look for is cold water through the door and the ice maker in the freezer department, even if that meant I could not dispense ice. Had we known these problems in advance, we would bought this item.
