just received this oven today and I absolutely love it. Excellent results in convection mode. Burners provide very strong to low heat that worked well for boiling water quickly or melting butter slowly. The construction is sturdy, and the design is stunning. Love the touchscreen interface for oven controls. Time will tell, but it seems like it'll last a lot longer than the membrane interface on most Other ovens. I feel this oven surpasses"Professional style" ovens costing thousands more.

After months of research and show room floor visits to replace another name brand range less than one year old, we finally decided and purchased the Samsung Chef Collection slide in gas range. We haven't been this happy in a year! The construction, features, and (most importantly) the performance of the range has been absolutely stellar. My wife and I are avid kitchen chefs and like preparing gourmet meals. This range meets our requirements beautifully. Note: this is not a "fast food" range but a sophisticated, highly utilitarian tool - not for the occassional kitchen person. In fact, our opinion is that you'd have to spend a lot more (you know the one's I'm referring to) to get a comparable range based on features and performance! To top it off, it's also beautiful!

We've only had it for a few days, but it does everything well so far.
We baked a two layer cake, grilled and sauteed, roasted vegetables,
used standard baking, convection baking, and convection roasting.
Works very well. Cleans up more easily than I thought it would.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JamesC Nice range. Lots of features. Shallow warming compartment.
I purchased and had this slide-in gas range installed in my home last week. The range provides a large recessed area across the back panel, so it wasnt' necessary to shorten or relocate the existing gas line that extends about 10-inches out of the floor. Aside from a gas line, and the proper fittings, a 120v electrical receptacle is required to power the igniters, touch screen, light, etc. The main range is controlled by an easy to operate touch screen display. Food cooks evenly and pies rise higher using the convection fan. My wife has been baking non-stop since the range was installed, to make up for the 3 weeks she was without a range. The range appears to be very good quality contruction, although my wife and I wish the cast iron grates were heavier gauge. The range includes a weighty 2-sided cast iron griddle that sits ontop of the elongated center burner, and a cradle for holding pans with rounded botoms such as tea pots and woks. This is a 30-inch range which required no modification to my existing granite counters. The range features an approximately 1/2 inch overhang on each side to hide the unightly gap that usually exists between a range and countertop, giving the range a built-in appearance. The warming compartment at the bottom of the range is more shallow, than the Frigidaire range it replaced, and even though there's a separate control knob for it, the manufacturer doesn't recommend using the warming compartment for storage. One thing to note, which I don't care for, is that one or more of the igniters will click and spark when trying to light another burner. Also, the burners are more difficult to light than the burners on my old range, presumably because of the relatively long range of travel in the knob between the ignite and the high heat settings. For whatever reason, the top of the range runs shallow and doesn't extend to the back wall. Even though the range is entirely constructed of stainless steel, top included, Samsung includes an optional black painted metal spacer. Since the spacer didn't match the range, I purchaed a stainless steel vent from another brand of range to take up the gap. Overall, this is a really nice range and we are thrilled with it, so far. The stainless steel is shinier than other appliances we own, so we may have to upgade the other appliances to match. That said, the differences between this range and the NX58H9500WS are subtle; a different handle (flat vs. rounded), extra 1,000 BTU burner, and a better rack glide, and may not be worth the extra cost for the subtleties and Chef Collection badging.

I bought this range sight unseen and it is more than I expected. The oven is large large yet preheats quickly and the food I cook in the oven is browned to perfection. The cook top is fantastic and easy to clean. I have been cooking for over 40 years and in that time had several "gourmet " cook tops and ovens. This one wins hands down . The bonus is it is also beautiful to look at.

The oven cooks items very evenly without any burning at all so far. The large burner heats water very quickly. The "Chef Collection" slide out rack is a big improvement. The touch control panel is very logical & convenient. There is a small internal vent blower that runs after oven use, not a big distraction but you can hear it running.
The only con is the stainless steel top surface scratches easily. The cast iron burners can gouge the top surface if not handled very carefully.
We are happy with the oven so far.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Anonymous Great oven!
We originally purchased a stainless steel LG Convection Range which we absolutely loved other than it having a back on it which didn't look great against the granite and backsplash. So we started a search for a backless gas range with all the positives the LG had and we found this gem. The Samsung is amazing for its price. The oven is really large and bakes evenly, fast and is true convection. I love the glass touch controls, the range is a beauty and just what were looking for.
