Can I use this over carpet glue that I can't get off of my concrete? I want to put an epoxy floor down but can't get all of the mastic off.
Asked by: Molson2812
All glues, adhesives, and mastic must be removed prior to applying our Seal-Krete Lock-Down Bonding Primer. We recommend using our Krud Kutter Ultra Power Specialty Adhesive Remover to remove the glue and mastic from the concrete: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Krud-Kutter-16-fl-oz-Ultra-Power-Specialty-Adhesive-Remover-302815/206710356

Can I use Lock-Down to seal drywall in shower before tiling?

I am not able to take down the wall in my apartment to replace it with green or cement board to waterproof before re-tiling. The building super recommended to use an epoxy on the wall. Can I use Lock-Down to seal drywall in shower before tiling?

Yes, as long as it's a concrete surface.

Does this product replace the need to etch the floor?
Asked by: Cq
Great question! Etching is still required prior to applying our Seal-Krete Lock-Down Bonding Primer over bare concrete surfaces. If the previous coating is present, etching is not recommended prior to priming.

Why Home Depot would ask for a review only 2 months from purchase does not make sense for this product. The application of this product went great, I got very good coverage on a 2 1/2 car garage floor which was resurfaced with Top and Bond. I use a special Drylock 1 part epoxy floor paint ($62 gallon) over the Lock-Down. After a few weeks, everything is great. However, over time is the real test, does it continue not to peal etc.

I am not really satisfied with the way my garage floor came out..I ended up buying another sealer which had a very strong odor and caused the paint to bubble...the first sealer turned milkey white when I spilled water on it...Next time I will probably go with a two part kit...I used another product before and my floor is still holding out with no chipping of delaminating at all.

The only difficult part is that it goes on clear so you really have to keep track of where you have applied the primer. It starts off a little opaque, but then becomes clear as it dries. There is a little sheen to it so you can see if you have missed a spot with the right lighting.
