Model D1220-2 Internet 100664516 "Reach" vs "Length" ?

What is difference between Max Ladder length 17' and Max Reach 19'?
Asked by: Anonymous
I would say "length" refers to the ladder's length at full extension (17'); Whereas, "Reach" would add two (2) feet by having a person on the ladder at full extension "Reaching" out to a safe distance (2'+17'=19').

what is weight of16',20' and 40' aluminum ladders

Asked by: Anonymous
The weight is not as important as handling ladders safely. I trained on a Fire Department, and I recommend 2 people to handle any size extension ladder.

Can I use this ladder to install a light at 24 ft high on the side of my house?

Asked by: butch2T
The max reach when using a 20ft extension ladder is 19ft. In order to reach a height of 24ft you would need a 28ft step ladder which gives you a max reach of 27ft.

The only reason that rate a 4 star is that you can get a better ladder, but only for more money. This one is great for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Ladder. Wish I had bought years ago. I'm 61 years old and this ladder is so light that I have no trouble carrying it around. I love the length because it will do almost any project I have to do on my house. Don't let the lightness fool you. This is a very strong and sturdy ladder.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good ladder for the price This ladder was just what I expected-- a sturdy, light-duty ladder for occasional use at a low price. It doesn't twist, it's light enough to easily put on my roof rack to transport, and didn't cost too much. The plastic end caps at the top seem like they may fall off one day, but that can be fixed. Good value for the money. Try not to weigh too much though! I weigh 205lbs, so that leaves me 20lbs of materials to carry up and down. If you're lugging heavy stuff, try to weigh 150 or so ;-)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Wobbly I bought this ladder to clean the gutters on my home which are about 19 feet up and extended the ladder to the second to last rung. As I ascended the ladder, I reached 1/2 way before the wobble and bounce stopped me in my tracks. I was probably only standing at 10 feet. This ladder flexes a lot. There's are a lot of positive comments. I'm really surprised this ladder underperformed. I'll be returning it shortly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too heavy and cumbersome for my needs As a ladder, it performed well. For a woman, too long and cumbersome to carry alone, and a nightmare to store. As my ladder is for household use only, Xtend and Climb ladders better meet my needs. They reach the necessary heights, and are so light and easy to carry and for storage. Highly recommended for single ladies. Don't buy this ladder, try Xtend and Climb instead.
