Q:I have this faucet set and I am having a leak in the braided metal hose that goes from the faucet to the mixing valve. I would replace the hose, but the end that leaks to screwed way into the faucet and there appears to be no way I can remove it. What do you have as a solution? Can we just get the faucet with the braided hose? I really need some help here. Thank you.

A: I do have an extension to where I can hook in a garden hose to the faucet by removing the diffuser. I use is to fill my 80 gallon aquarium. I use an extension designed to fill a water bed I found at a local supply shop. I would think that would probably work in your case if the portable dishwasher has a connection the same size as a garden hose. I am sure you can find one on the internet.

Q:Bought this Faucet in 2013 was working fine until this week. I came home to find my worst nightmare my kitchen floor was all wet. After investigating the source of the leak I discovered that the hot water supply line sprung a leak and was leaking the entire time while I was at work. I tried tightening it up but it didn't fix the problem. Had to shut off the entire water supply to the faucet. Is there any way to fix the hot water supply line from leaking? Can I change out the hot water supply line leading into the faucet or do I have to buy a whole new faucet set?

A: If the leak is in the line that goes from the hot water supply to the faucet, you can replace it (Home Depot would have this water line). If the leak is above the place where the hot water line attaches to the copper line that goes up inside the faucet, you cannot replace it.

Q:We bought this faucet between 8 and 10 years ago. Love it. Just recently it started leaking at the base of the faucet. I tried to tighten it and it has stopped. Now the side handle is loose at the base and we were told we need to replace it. I felt underneath and part of a rubber ring fell off. Does this actually fall under a replacement or a fix? Also the hose underneath is quite long and it seems to be tangled up. I have complained to our plumber that the hot water comes out at a really low stream and I feel it's because the hose is choking the water from flowing. I just feel that what's wrong shouldn't require new parts but a "plumber's fix". Can you advise?

A: We replaced ours with the same model as I wrote to Kohler and it was covered. You can get parts, but the problem is that things like rubber gaskets are NOT covered under warrenty and while the parts are not expensive, it take a long time to open up the unit and replace them -- a plumber's fees may exceed the cost of a new unit including installation. Best of luck.

A: Assuming it is installed correctly and the hose isn’t kinked, there may be a problem with the part that diverts the water from the faucet to the sprayer. Did you install it yourself or have someone do it? If you had someone do it, call them back. If it was you, recheck the installation and if all is correct, but a new one and replace it. Then if that works, return the first one as a defect. You can also call Kohler, they are helpful and may have a better idea. Good luck!

Q:I have this faucet. The handle has become very loose. I have to tighten the allen screw often. and now the plastic washers in the handle are getting pretty chewed up. Are there parts available to fix the handle? If not, can I purchase a new handle set? I really like this faucet but don't want to purchase the whole thing again as the spout itself works fine.

Hope this helps.
