Q:Does it come wit lid 5 gallon bucket

Answer This Question

A:  Hello Alan: No, lids are not included, they are sold separately because there are different kinds to choose from. We have three types of lids: "Easy-off" pushes on and off much like the lids on a deli container. "Heavy Duty Lids with Gasket" provide a tighter seal and have a tear-tab to remove. "Screw-Top Lid" is a two part design. A ring sits permanently on the lip of the bucket and the middle section screws on and off. We sell orange, white, and black lids to Home Depot on a regular basis. Our 5-gallon buckets are a standard size so any 5-gallon lid will fit.

A:  Hi Deb - We do not consider the orange buckets as food safe. Our plain white buckets are, you can search 202541442 (10-pack) or 300197644 (single). Buckets considered food-safe will have a FS sticker. Leaktite's sticker is black/red/white with a spoon, fork, and knife.

Q:Is it safe to shower with water heated inside a home Depot bucket?

          Answer This Question

A:  Hi Pail - It should be. We test the buckets to water temperatures of 120F degrees, it can sustain temperatures up to 230F for short periods of time. When pouring extreme hot water, the walls of the container will become flexible so it is recommended not to try to lift or move the bucket until the water cools somewhat. Please carefully test the water temperature before stepping under the flow. Water should not be above 120 degrees for exposure to skin. Temperature should be kept between 98* F - 104*F for safety.

Q:It seems that there is an oil on the bucket, because When it is new, if I mix concrete inside and empty it, it does not stick to the bucket. Can I know what is the oil or spray inside the bucket ? And where can I buy it to use for other purposes?

A:  Hi Rejean - We do not put any spray or coating on our buckets. It just must be the clean, unblemished surface of the newly molded buckets. Once they get exposed to dust, grit, and dirt, they lose their natural viscosity. Sorry, no magic potion available!

Q:Can I store Olympic deck cleaner in these buckets?

              Answer This Question

A:  Hello Mre1: Yes, while it is always best to store material in the original container, the buckets are solvent-resistant and should be safe for the cleaner. Keep the bucket from extremes of temperature - especially freezing temps - and keep it tightly sealed. We don't have any data on the prolonged effect of deck cleaner on the buckets and recommend them only for short-term use.

                A:  5 gallons of water

A:  Hi Brad - 84 pounds is the maximum lifting weight. It will depend on how old the bucket is and where it is stored and how solid the contents are.

                      Answer This Question

A:  Seventy-five pounds of beans would have been slightly below the weight limit. I don't know why the bucket broke and whether it was new or old. The type of lid you had on the bucket would have been a greater factor to hold weight. If the bucket tipped on its side, that might have cased the crack. We don't recommend standing on buckets for that reason. Sorry for your injuries.
