This unit is replacing a 10 year old LG. The fan went out so I had to buy this one. Installation took me about an hour because this one is the same width but shorter in height so I had to build up my wall. It is not a wall mount but I figured out how to make it fit solid. I have another LG mounted the same way in the bedroom. Cools my area of really well so I am confident it will last as long as the previous one.

Purchased yesterday. Very detailed instructions. Easy to install. A lot of thought went into their design. Works perfect. Using for a garage cooling. Would highly recommend. The end store price was about $100 less than what's on the web.

It’s not getting cold at all my house still be hot and I stay in a apartment I thought because I didn’t get an warranty I wouldn’t be able to send it back can someone please contact me back

2 rating because it still works after 2 years. By design the fan throws water out the side vents, no bottom drain hole – unbelievable “solution” to the condensation issue.. Warranty expired, I drilled a drain hole and sealed every other hole I could find. Rest of that summer, no problem, now (this summer) it is back. Oddity: turn the unit off, water pours out the drain hole - something (the fan?) is keeping water away from the hole while it's operating. I don't know what to do.

This is a piece of garbage. First, you must disassemble the unit to then, put it back together. Mind you, the hardware provided was not the correct size nor have the correct amount of hardware screws. So I went to the hardware store and got the proper screws. Then came the brackets, hose didn’t have the correct bolts. So back to the hardware store. Got the correct bolts, mount the supports. The side fins that extend out to the window, came out of the pre drilled holes. What a piece of excrement

I had a smaller LG unit that was not cooling off my bedroom. This one is helping me keep my cool this summer. Switched it out for the old one without a problem. Summers in South Florida can be brutal but this AC unit is blowing some ice cold air.

It’s been a few hrs and I’m sweating, not sure what temp everyone else who says it works has it on, but I’ve tried 60,70,80 + fan 3 and my small room does not get cold at all! HUGE WASTE OF MONEY! The only thing I do like is the remote control but this AC is definitely not worth purchasing, you’re better off getting a fan!

I'm really enjoying this air conditioner. It cools of my entire small apartment. The only thing I am still trying to figure out is why there's no residual coming out the back of the air conditioner. It is tilted but there is no water being released. There is water inside because I can hear it swishing around. I read the directions and the trouble shooting list, still I'm at a lost. In all the air conditioner is working very well.

I am cooling a 1000 sq ft area with this A/C and you will freeze your hind end off!!! BUT I love it! This is why I bought it because I like my place COLD and this is the way it stays. It is very quiet, I was pleased with that but I don't like that every time I turn it on, I have to press the power button on the remote and then press the mode button because when I turn it on, it comes on in the "Energy Saver" mode and doesn't come on when I need it to. I had to put a piece of cardboard on the top, above the vents, to direct the cool air downward because it blows toward the ceiling. I've tried turning the vents downward and it's down as far as it will go (I didn't want to force it downward any further, I was afraid I'd break it). Other than that, I love it!!!

Pretty disappointed for $650. Been on for 3 days and I’m sitting here sweating.. Noisy, economy mode kicks on and off constantly. Upgraded from a 12000 btu. This is no better. Wasted money..

Very bad installation! After put the unit to the cabinet, front grille can’t snaps into place. Can’t secure with screws through the front grille.The screw fixing column has too long, need cut 3/8 inch then can snaps into place.

This unit was very easy to install in the window and when it was started, cooled the room quickly. The fact that it's energy efficient says a lot. It has been a life saver this summer. We have had the unit less than a month.

I've had the unit up and running for a week now. I have the 8,000 btu/h model to cool a 100 sq ft office. This unit is oversized form the sq. ft. per LG recommendations, however i wanted a larger size for the cool air to spill out and help cool other rooms. So far the unit has performed as expected. The energy saver mode is great. It is programmed to be a 3minute delay to check temperature, i wish this time limit could be changed, 5 or 10 minutes would be better for me. Either way the feature is much appreciated and will save me some money on my utility bill. One issue i want to point out if the manufacturer were to ever read this, is that the filler panels are shotty at best. The insulation strips, panels, and any/all foam used to insulate around the unit is low quality. I wish more was invested in this as a lot of efficiencies are lost through leakage. I ended up buying all aftermarket insulation. Also the panels do not allow good water drainage if you were to experience a wind driven rain into the unit. Poor design here, i will be building a shelter over the unit to prevent weather and direct sunlight on the condenser inefficiencies. I wish LG would market an aftermarket hail/sun guard for the condenser fins. Also, i used the AC Safe toolless bracket to mount the unit. See my review in that section of the mount.

it does its job. I needed this AC, as the covid-19 pandemic forced me to set a home-office for the summer. I went to pick it up at Home Depot in Milwaukee, and also got some extra stuff to do a proper mount.

I purchased the 10,000 btu versian to cool our master bedroom. The room is rather large, about 15x32. The one we were replacing was an 8,000 btu frigidaire which cooled fairly well. I would say this LG cools the same amount as the frigidaire, which is a little disappointing because I went with a larger unit in hopes of better cooling. I will say though, that the air is very fresh, crisp and clean. Plus the unit is very quiet, much more than I expected. As far as actually installing the unit, the directions were kind if hard to follow, so I ended up watching a YouTube video - which was hard to find for this particular model; hopefully more people make videos for this. I was very puzzeled when I discovered you actually have to pull the internal unit from the casing, then install the case in your window, then you can slide the until back into the casing. Oh my goodness, this makes installing an air conditioner SO much easier as they are so heavy. If you need to install this on a second floor you definitely want to get this brand, it will save your life! All in all, once I figured out HOW to do it, the install was a breeze. I am happy with my unit, i will probably buy one for my living room space, but I will definitely go mich bigger than needed in order to get the desired cooling I am looking for.

The separate housing on this unit made it a relatively easy install. Everything we needed to secure and balance it was provided. I am impressed with its moderate size considering the cooling power it delivers. It's quite unobtrusive, both inside and outside and runs very quietly. I like the dry feature, which we've already used with the recent downpours. I'm very pleased with it and would buy a second one, for a nother floor of our large colonial. Our UPS delivery man was great, he delivered it exactly where we needed it.

I purchased this 8000 BTU AC unit on May 29, 2020 and installed it on a temporary basis for the night. This unit is a stop gap measure until the fall when I hope to totally replace my ailing central A/C. I was going to have to do a little bit of custom work to install as I have vinyl windows and I did not want the unit resting on the vinyl window frame. So for temporary set up, I put a 2 x 4 underneath the cabinet and let it run overnight. While inspecting on how to proceed to a permanent installation in the morning, I saw that near the bottom of the cabinet on the inside of the house there was water condensation. This is not a good thing as it would drip and ruin the inside window ledge below. And I decided to go look outside and again there was heavy condensation underneath the cabinet. And the condensation extended pass the vinyl window frame to the inside of the house. Again water could be dripping on window ledge on the inside of the house and become a source for mold. This is not going to work for me. So I have decided to return it. As emergency hurricane preparations years earlier I had installed a 15,000 LG unit to run off a generator in case of power failure. It does not have the condensation problem that this 8,000 LG unit has. I am undecided as to whether to buy a larger case LG unit or some other brand. It is my opinion that the smaller case of the 8000 BTU unit contributes to the condensation.

I love the A/C. It's quiet. It looks good. And, most important, within a few minutes it cooled off the whole living area of a raised ranch (kitchen, living & dining rooms and the bathroom). I even noticed a temperature difference in the bedroom at the end of the hall. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Installed this air conditioner in April 2019. I live in southern tip of Indiana and this is 2nd year of use. I installed in a 24x30 garage with insulated walls and ceiling. Cools great! I installed in cut out in wall as I don't have any windows in my garage. I highly recommend this air conditioner.

This a/c system was very easy to install and the best feature is that it's not too lowed when in use.

Not too loud but definitely noticable. It did cool 26×20, 3 room open floor plan down 10* in about 3 hours on low setting

Fairly easy assembly. I thought it was going to be heavy because in the box it seemed that way but once we got it out the box the compressor wasn’t as heavy as anticipated. So far my only complaint is the box not having handles. Keeps the majority of my upstairs(1340 sqft) cool as long as we keep the door to the stairwell shut.

Very easy to install. AC unit cools amazing! I have it in a mobile home and is able to cool down the kitchen and living room space. I love it! Not very noisy like other units I have had. I recommend this unit and the price was just right! LG never disappoints and I am very happy with this unit! Has 3 fan speeds and it works really good.

I have no idea how this product has so many positive reviews. I purchased the 10,000 BTU unit and it can't be installed in my window despite it fitting the dimensions. They fail to mention you have to have a window sill that is wood and where the bottom is high enough to drill and secure the unit to. Now I own a $400, 80 pound paperweight.

Useless. Doesn’t even begin to cool. 12x18 room. Installed when it was 70° out. Turned on. Very quiet but I guess that’s because the ac compressor doesn’t work. I LOVE traveling 30 mins each way to make a purchase like this, take the time and effort to install and then it doesn’t do what it’s supposed to do. I should’ve known better. LG is for tv’s not ac units.
