[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Assembly/Set up: Assembly was not difficult as it is most complete out of the box. The instructions start as if you are doing your initial spray job. I assembled it first and practiced with water just to get a feel for how if functioned before starting a real project. It worked well in practice with the Material Flow and Pattern Adjustments controls functioning well. There was a sticker where it said "Prior to use, remove this sticker and tighten black retaining ring" - I never did figure out what that was referring to. I tried to look for a video on the website but they do not have one yet for this product and the other products were not the exact same construction. I was also confused by the feel of the trigger which consists of two pieces. It worked fine, but I wondered if it was broken when I first looked. Function - I used it to spray a small concrete block room used to store wood. I used a mold eliminating primer paint in white. It worked very well with no issues. I used the Material Flow and Pattern Adjustment controls and they again worked well. The guidance in the manual regarding proper technique was helpful. I had no issues controlling the spray and was able to bring it in tight with controlled overspray. When I thinned the paint a bit more the sprayer was more consistent. Clean Up - I spent at least 30 minutes cleaning up. I expect this could be done faster with practice. I also was working out of a bucket of water as we are on a septic system. Everything on the materials side can be submerged with the turbine portion mostly wipe down. Reassembly was quick once everything was dry.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wagner spray tech stain sprayer, 350 review I used the sprayer to stain two full and two half pieces of lattice. I used about ½ gallon of stain. I had some difficulty connecting the handle to the sprayer. It wasn’t clearly marked showing how to line the two pieces together. The spray test with water was not too helpful because I could not see the water spray pattern. Colored water might have helped because the spray paper was white and black. I had to spray the stain before I could get the proper number setting on the sprayer. When I was spraying a higher area, I had to support the sprayer with my other hand. This might be due to a recent shoulder surgery. I also could have used a ladder for the higher area. The adjustment for vertical to horizontal spraying worked very well. When I was done spraying, I started brushing the stain on the wood. At this time I could see I actually had the spray setting too high because the stain was running on the wood. The cleanup was easy with warm water and dish soap. After the lattice dried I installed it on the front of my house. It looks good. I am putting climbing vines at the base to climb on the lattice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using the Controlstainer 350,saved a lot of time. The project was a swing and stand in the yard. The ease of setting up the sprayer was very easy. I adhered to the directions. the swing and stand was completed on July 9, 2021. The sprayer was easy to fill and I had complete control while staining, the stain went on very smooth and evenly, without runs. I used the lowest setting on the dial to disburse the stain and I did not have to thin my stain. I did have to apply 2 coats of stain, as this had never been stained before. Clean up was a breeze, using soap and water everything came clean and went back together as the instructions stated. I would definitely recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed to repaint my interior doors without adding so much paint that they wouldn't close normally. I am absolutely impressed with the control strainer. The paint went on smooth and didn't create a lot of build up. I got my interior doors painted over a three day period and they look great. ultimately though, it was the clean up I enjoyed the most. Soapy water and I was done, I just used a 5 gallon bucket and let it air dry.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing it was so helpful to paint. I was remodeling some kitchen stools and with the control stainer it came in handy I got it done so quick and the paint looks so smooth and nice. I also feel like you use less paint.

This sprayer provided good coverage on my fence. It took me a few minutes to get used to how to spray without the stain running. Overall it saved me a ton of time. I stained one run of fencing by hand and it took me 2 days. It took me about 2 hours to do the side in the picture with the sprayer. My only complaint is having to refill the reservoir about every 8 pickets. Other than that it performed well.

We rebuilt our fence last month and after looking at it for a while decided it was time to stain it. There is about 100 foot of fence and we were able to get one side stained in under a hour. The stain goes on evenly and there are no drips or waste. We are really satisfied with this product and would definitely recommend.

Reviews on here are from people that don't understand what the product is actually for. If you read the description, it's intended for stains and lacquers (as well as some thinned paints), and it works very well for this purpose. It's not intended for thicker paints like Behr Marquis. For those, you'll need a higher power HVLP sprayer. Honestly people just use your brain and look before you buy. I appreciate that Wagner takes the time to respond to all reviews. You guys make a great product, keep it up!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first project with the ControlStainer350 was to paint a display case to be use on my outside covered deck. I painted the inside of the case with solid color latex stain (green) and finished the outside of the case with a solid color oil stain (red). After initial setup and determining what flow I needed and what width, it worked like a charm. Had very little issue with runs, overall had great coverage. I have done a couple of these cases in the past with brush and roller, needless to say I will never go back. I found all the control features to be very simple to operate and adjust to your desired specs. The cleanup was super easy and not as time consuming as I thought it would be. After finishing the outside of the case I had stain left over so I used it on part of my catwalk deck that runs down the side of my house. It worked great cant wait till next spring to start on all of my decking.

My neighbor was impressed how fast it went and how easy it was to get a great looking stained fence. I'll be doing many more projects with it and my neighbor may be getting one soon.

I purchased this prior to staining my deck with solid color stain. I was apprehensive about the purchase but found the sprayer to be easy to use, easy to clean, and a huge time saver especially on the railing. Worth every penny

I bought this sprayer for its small compact size and ease of use on small projects. I build planter boxes and use about an 1/8 of a gallon per box. On the first 6 boxes, cleaning after each box, everything works well. But, now I used it on four (4) large planter boxes 54" x 27", with vertical legs of 30". I did all 4 boxes at the same time. It took about 1hr of continual use. I was switching from vertical to horizontal continually. I noticed the Jets of air coming out getting hotter and hotter, but I can't stop...gotta keep going. After 45 min of spraying and switching horizontal to vertical, the setting was on fine spray and no.1 volume; the gun decided to spray wide with lots of volume. I check the sprayer and it narrow on 1, but the sprayer is doing wide on like 4. Lots of stain is going everywhere... Now my boxes have more stain in areas they don't need it and they look like dirt!! The gun gets hot and decides it will spray whatever the, you know what, it wants to spray after 45min of continual use... I will not recommend this sprayer for small projects that require stain on planter boxes. My $2,000 order of boxes look like a kid did them, because the sprayer decided to do its own thing...

Product worked well for staining my fence. Much less time than rolling or using a brush. Also unit was on sale.

I purchased this product after watching my wife waste a day of her life painting lattice and only get about 1/8 of the way done! This product is VERY easy to setup and use. Spray is consistent and easy to control. Easy to clean and take apart also. I will use this sprayer on every outside job I have from now on. Best $100 I have ever spent!!

My first time with a paint sprayer. Worked well to stain a large deck. Took a while to get the flow and spray control settings where they needed to be. Mostly due to my learning curve. Used an oil stain by Cabot and probably used less stain with the sprayer than conventional roller or brush. At first had flow control too heavy and went over the sprayed area with a roller after spraying. Got the flow adjusted lower and eliminated this step. Bypassed the recommendation to sand the deck before staining so some areas turned out darker than others. Two thirds done and rain kicked in so will have to complete after thigs dry out. First cleaning was a pain but decided to put mineral spirits in the bottle and run it through the sprayer. Worked great and cut the cleanup time to just a few minutes. Will be using the sprayer again on the upper deck.

Was able to invert the sprayer for short periods to paint my chain link fence. Excellent unit.

I do not often write reviews, mainly due to not having the time to do so. I am taking time to write a review on this tool I purchased. I own a maintenance company that maintains over 800 properties. My trucks are full of some of the best tools for the job you can have. This sprayer well exceeded my expectations. It is a great addition to my tool collection. I have a deck that is over 2500 sq. ft and a fence that is over 5500 sq. ft that needed staining. I used semi solid on the deck and semi transparent on the fence. I covered almost 3000 sq. ft of fence in one day. The fence looks great. The deck was done a week ago and it looks really good. I was dreading doing both; time is something that is scarce for me with my company this time of the year. The Wagner 350 made staining a quick and easy task. I read all the reviews and here is what I found to be correct with the Wagner 350:' Read the instructions more than once. As you read the instructions, hold the sprayer and study it as you read. Experiment with different settings until you find what works best for your project. I made it a priority to check each re-fill of stain to make sure no foreign objects, leaves, grass, etc. got into my tank. On occasion I would wipe the tip off with rag dipped in mineral spirits. I never experienced any clogging of the sprayer. Cleanup is a must. Do not take any shortcuts. Read your instructions and take the sprayer apart before you ever start staining. Get a good understanding of how the sprayer is put together. It is simple. Take the time to clean your sprayer right and each time you start again, it will work like new. I highly recommend this tool for anyone who has staining to do.

This tool is effective. Easy to handle lift and hold for long periods of time even with arm extended. Used it to stain a larger lot fence and plan to use it more often. Has a great spread and the dial is easy to adjust for coverage. On the downside after about 45 mins of use the nossle gunks up a bit and even after cleaning tends to shoot globs of stain; and assuming will with paint too, out towards the side of your set paint spread. Adjusting and messing with the dial helped the problem but wad a bit frustrating. Overall well worth the money for small to medium size jobs.

This stain sprayer cut my deck staining project from a two person job down to one. It saved me hours of time. I now no longer dread staining my deck.

The control stainer handheld sprayer is light to carry and very efficient. It produced even coverage with minimal dripping and over spray. The biggest negative is the extremely short power cord. A extension cord is a must. A tip to avoid frustration later on is to keep the tiny hole on the suction tube clean and clear, if you don't the stain/paint will not flow up through the tube. I was amazed it provided lots of stain coverage in a short period of time. Be sure to follow the instructions for proper use.

Wagner puts out some really nice products. They offer excellent customer service and there are plenty of videos on their website to assist you. I could not find Control Stainer 350 HVLP Handheld Sprayer on the Wagner website as they have the product named otherwise. The documentation with this tool is clear and simple with very nice graphics. Assembly out of the box was easy. When first using the tool, I would recommend working with it outdoors as it will require that you know how to use all of its features to accomplish what you are trying to spray. Very easy to break down and clean. Good weight with a full cup means less fatigue. Quiet operation. Three things I did not care for. The material flow control knob will disconnect if you are not careful. Secondly, the air stream (turbine) created by the sprayer activates as soon as power is supplied. If you are attempting to work with smaller pieces, this is an issue. Making flow adjustments help but, the pieces still moved. I see nothing in the user manual to control this.Last, the latch that secures the turbine to the sprayer is made out of plastic. I don't have a warm fuzzy about that, as it feels like it has a problem potential as it does require some pressure to push down in order for the turbine and sprayer separation. Pictures are provided with this review for all concerns. Overall I really like this sprayer and look forward to more projects using it.

Wagner Control Stainer 350 HVLP Handheld Sprayer is a handy sprayer for outdoor projects. Its a compact and is easy to use sprayer for projects outdoors like fences, decking, garages doors, painting furniture and other stuff. From the title its designed for staining decks and siding, but can handle paints, latex and oil, if correctly thinned as necessary. I tried it out with some latex paint and it worked fine. Should mention I did thin it a little with a control flow additive in the paint as I usually do. The control agent preps the paint so it works better with a paint sprayer and provides other advantages. I also have a Wagner PaintREADY Sprayer Station and have been spraying for a couple of years now. My older one comes with a hose and the blower on the floor. It has pretty much what this one has except this one lacks an air flow control selector slide for the air flow rate that's used to adjust for different material thicknesses. This model air pressure is preset. For what it's spraying its not a big deal as I've never adjusted it much for projects the whole time. From what I see, feel confident its also fine for most painting as they say . This unit over the older one is obviously smaller overall, more compact with the blower on the back end of the spray gun. The cup size is the same and has a replaceable air filter. Instead of an air hose which is about an inch and a quarter in diameter it has an electrical cord. Aside from these differences they both are functionally identical in their operation with one better suited for larger projects like doing rooms and this one optimized for the smaller projects.. If you are new to spraying I'd recommend this one as easier to start with than others and just as capable as previously described with its ease of use.

I have used sprayers in the past that basically were thrown away after a few uses. This Wagner sprayer is very professional and used it for a solid stain and it never clogged up. Cleanup is a breeze and it looks like new again, ready for this next project. A true time saver with professional results, and I would recommend to everyone.

So much easier to use this sprayer for staining lattice than by hand. I stained lattice before installing and took less than 5 minutes per side, that includes brushing it after staining which is a must. Sprayer gets the stain on the lattice, not smooth, but well enough to then brush it in very easily. Easy cleanup. Getting the paint container back on to the sprayer was tricky….wanted to go on crooked and took a little extra effort to get in on their correctly.

Works well for stains. I have not tried paint. It cleans easy and had plenty of power to spray.
