Thank you for your review and we're sorry you are not happy with the sprayer. The iSpray Nozzle/front end that comes with the sprayer will spray most stains unthinned. It is ideal for big surface projects such as spraying walls, sheds, fences and will give you a roller-like or slightly stippled finish. There is a learning curve so test the sprayer with water first, It is cheaper to experiment with than paint. Play with the flow control which will help you get use to the adjustment so when you add your coating it will take less time to get use to it. Depending on the thickness of your coating usually want to start a test pattern with the flow control at it's lowest setting, or close, and slowly turn the flow control up a little at a time until you are getting a good pattern. Strain your coating and make sure it is mixed up very well. The better it is mixed up the better it will spray. I cannot stress how important these two things are. Make sure the end of the nozzle is no more than 6”-8” away from what you are spraying. If you need to add water or paint conditioner (like Paint Easy by Wagner, it's sold at most paint stores or home centers). Add a little at a time, you can always add more but you can’t take away. Our Control Stainer series are intended for thin bodied materials, like stain. They will struggle with thick latex paints, especially Behr products. Behr doesn't even want you to use an HVLP at all with their paints. We suggest our Flexio models for painting projects as they have stronger turbines to atomize thicker paints. Thanks for your review. All sprayers use more paint than if you brush or roll the project, but they also give better results faster. Also, the Control Stainer is intended for thin bodied materials, like stain. Paints require thinning for better application. Thank you. We're glad to hear that. However, the CS 350 is not airless, it's an HVLP, which uses a lot of air. It's also designed to spray thin products well, like stain. Paint will require thinning. Up to 20% is fine with most paints. Good luck with your projects.
