Quiet and Full of Features
This is a solid washer, especially for midwest hard water! There are a ton of features from the stain working station just inside the top lid and plenty of space to work. The 4.8 cu feet is great for large items like comforters and sheets! It is very quiet and works well for our family. The buttons are easy to see and select and LCD is big enough to let you review your options and time estimates. The refill is nicely designed and easy to use. This should last a long time and we love it already.

Looks great.
Had to replace a front load washer that was making a lot of noise. This is a very good looking unit. Controls are easier to use than old washer. It does take a little learning curve. I like the little scrub brush that comes with the unit. With the running water you can spray with stain remover and scrub the stains. Tub is just deep enough the wife doesn't have problems getting clothes out.

Nice Looking ~ Tons Of Features ~ Saves Us Money ~ Cleans Very Well
We got this model of washer because we've had great luck with Whirlpool appliances in the past. We liked the extra features this model had such as the built-in scrubber and the extra water faucet for pre-treating or rinsing. It has many different cycles and adjusts the water level automatically which save a lot of water AND money. It has separate Detergent, Softener and Bleach dispensers which is very handy.

Great Washer
This is the nicest washer our family has owned. It’s also our first real high efficiency unit and so far we are impressed. Build quality wise it’s an attractive unit with a straightforward control panel layout that my elderly mother appreciates. Touch controls work great and the digital display is easy to read. The detergent/softener tray itself is fine although if there was one feature I’m missing the most from the other smart version it’s the load n’ go. The faucet option plus scrubber have been super useful for what little stains we get. As far as noise is concerned when compared to our 6yr old non HE washer this new unit is slightly less loud. We never considered the old unit particularly noisy so no issues here. Over the past several days we’ve done several weeks worth of loads that had been backed up, consisting of pretty much anything you’d want to wash in a house. We primarily used Normal, Cold, and Quick. Completion times have been better than expected. Again comparing them to our older unit, and depending on the load, we have seen at best an improvement in load times and at worst about equal. I’m satisfied with that. At no point did we had any real issues with our loads completing and I’d like to highlight some of the additional features we’ve used and like the most: Clean mode- Ran this as we neared the 30 load mark. Used bleach and was easy to do. Deep Water- Used this 2-3 times total so far. Super handy with being able to choose a level. Auto seems to be all we needed. Delay Start- Did not think we would use this much but have been getting loads ready at bed and having them start early AM. Great. Spin/Temp- Easy to modify. Pause/Lock/Unlock: Works just fine with little delay. Overall I'm happy with the washer. It’s packed with features that we actually use while remaining easy to operate. Whirlpool service is widely available in my area and I've had good experiences with support the few times I’ve used them in the past so I can recommend.

Clean clean clean, we love our new washer
Clean clean clean, we love our new washer, not only is it new, but it has so many features we’ve never had before, like the Fossett that’s built into the inside with the scrubbing brush that house is the soap for the scrubbing. It installed very easily without the use of a plumber. Features include soak scrub wash it tackle stains very well and it came with all the hardware for the insulation including the expenditure tube. We love the fact that it doesn’t have a agitator, which when we’re washing sheets ties it all up. Having a educator everything comes out perfectly clean. We put it ready made into the dryer and it dries it all without a problem. We’re very happy we got this, not sure if you want to get another one after this.

    Very Quiet
This is a large capacity washer and it is full of advanced technology including wifi connectivity, My wife loves the glass top which allows one to see the washload and the wash in action. The wash was smooth and super quiet and its auto-sensing features will do a smart-wash based on the type of load and density. The many features make this a great buy and I would recommend.

    Easy to use, very quiet.
Despite the control panel on this Whirlpool top load washer having 25 buttons, it's really easy to use. The LCD screen clearly displays all the info you need, and when the washer is running it will tell you what it's doing and how much time remains. While I always use the "Normal" / Quick" wash combination, my wife makes use of several of the other features and seems very happy with the results. The washer does a pretty good job during the spin cycle - the drum so far has not ever banged around from an unbalanced load. Spin speed is one of the items you can adjust on the control panel although I let the washer make that decision. Compared to our old washer, The Whirlpool manages to squeeze more water out of the clothes, which reduces run time in the dryer.

    Cleanest close ever
Cleanest close ever with my new 4 1/2 ft.³ top loading washing machine with a built-in water faucet and steam brush. The stain brush is fantastic no need to bring my granddaughters soiled clothing to the sink, I put on the stain remover scrubbing in and it has a Fossett for rinsing. Then I just throw it in the wash. It’s very big and doesn’t have an agitator which is great so that the sheets don’t get tied up so that nothing rinses. It’s very quiet with easy see-through glass. It has a detergent bleach and fabric softener department, I can just drop in a pod. The installation was very easy because the installers did it when they dropped it off. Sanitize cycle also worked great for the kitchen towels now do not smell musty or mildew it.

    FABULOUS-will make your life easier
First of all, this washing machine looks elegant and pretty and I certainly never thought I’d use those adjectives when describing a washing machine. I love the granite color (nothing stark like black or white) plus the lid is clear so I can check to see what my clothes are up to while being washed. I’m not sure why this makes my day, but it does. This washer does not come with water hoses; it does come with a drain hose. I needed only a pair of channel lock pliers to hook everything up and it took me maybe about 30 minutes to unwrap, hook up and wrangle into place. My floor was already level so I didn’t have to adjust the feet, but they are easy to adjust. If you are placing this under a shelf/cabinet, you will need about 21” of clearance from the top of the washer. It took me a little while to get used to this washer as it replaced a washer that was about 30 years old. When this fills up with water, the washer will gently agitate the clothes for a bit to move them around evenly before the wash actually starts, some of the clothes will stick up above the water line – that seemed odd to me, but the clothes come out clean using less water, so that’s all to the good. The washer senses how much water to add so you don’t have to think about it, just choose what you want: delicates, bulky load, etc. Another feature it took me awhile to get used to, is that if you open the lid and walk away, you have about 10 minutes to get back to it or the water will start to drain. I tend to forget that I lifted the lid and mean to get back, but… so this machine keeps me on track. 10 minutes is plenty of time to run upstairs and grab those last few items that accumulated since I brought everything else downstairs. The lid locks once you’ve started the wash, but you can pause the cycle and open the lid at any time; it just takes a little longer if you’re in the middle of the spin cycle. I appreciate this feature because I do have little ones that occasionally think they need to investigate what’s going on and this keeps them from getting into trouble. If you need to add more clothes to it after the wash has started, this machine senses the addition(s) and will add the appropriate additional amount of water, if needed. Pretty clever. You do have the ability to add more water if you want more water than what the machine decides and I really, really like that option. One very convenient feature is the soap/fabric softener dispenser. You load those bad boys up and you’re done for several loads. No more dealing with lifting (and spilling) bottles or boxes. You can use either powder (high efficiency) or liquid detergent, whichever you prefer. It also has a “delay start” which at this point, is something I couldn’t do without. Our energy provider requests (and likely will soon start charging more if you don’t do this) we use our major appliances before 3pm or after 9pm. I can load my laundry and then choose a start time up to a 12 hour delay. Frequently I load the machine before going to bed, then have the load start shortly before I’m ready to start the day so when I come downstairs, the clothes have just finished washing and are ready for the dryer. Not only that, but the spin cycle is so efficient that the clothes spend less time in the dryer. They’re done and ready to be folded before I leave for work. I’m not saying I actually do fold them then, just that they’re ready. Next to the bleach dispenser is a little scrubby tool convenient for those stains that need extra help which means I was able to get rid of the yucky old toothbrush I kept by the machine. When you start the wash, on the front panel is a light up button that will walk you through your choices – too many to elaborate here. One of your many choices is the loudness of the buzzer to signal when the load is done. My washer is in the garage, so I have it set to the loudest and I can hear it clearly from inside the house, a room or two away. Another option is a “quick” wash which really is quick and comes in handy. This machine has so many features, I can’t imagine it lacks anything a person would need in a machine. The panel also tells you about how long your load of laundry will take. I didn’t realize how truly convenient this feature is, but now I feel it’s something I absolutely have to have. It is very quiet when running. You can hook it up to the Internet, but I couldn’t quite figure that one out as I’m rather challenged when it comes to that kind of technology. Whirlpool has a help number I could’ve called, but honestly this machine does just about everything but cook my dinner, so I didn’t feel the need to hook it up to the Internet.

    Amazing technology and innovation
We REALLY LOVE this top loading washing machine. This machine has the top marks for user friendly innovation and advances in custom features. So many features that are something you will never want to live without again. First the display for anyone from the most beginner to advanced will appreciate how easy it is to select the proper functions. The left side of the panel allows you to select what you are washing.. ex whites, regular, dedicates, bulky, colors or towels and then on the right how you want to wash them.. ex normal, sanitize, cold wash, heavy duty, quick or wrinkle control. This also has all of the customization for pre soak, extra rinse and to delay the start. Could not be easier to use! Now to the real amazing features we really appreciate! There is a pre soak button that is a drip symbol on the left of the detergent dispenser that allows water to start filling in a stream if you wanted just a bit of water in the bottom to allow laundry to do a deep soak before washing... who needs the sink in the laundry room anymore right??? Amazing! Our other cant live without is the unique spot clean built in spot and stain remover brush. This little device allows you to fill it with whatever your favorite spot treatment for laundry is and once filled rests just below the lid on the right. When you need to spot treat something just pick up the brush that is already pre filled with your spot remover and press the top down and it dispenses just a bit right over where you are holding it on the fabric. The bottom of the dispenser has some bristles to gently rub in the treatment if you care too. What we also absolutely love is the large capacity. Shown below is a king size blanket ( white) and then a twin size quilt on top that all fit easily into this machine in one single load. I am always on the lookout for a machine that will fit my bulkiest of quilts and items like sleeping bags etc and this is a champ! This machine really does and has it all. Its quiet, efficient and i love being able to see what is in the machine as its washing. We cannot recommend this enough. This is the one that you have been waiting for. It really is top of the line in every aspect! You will love it as well.

    Like a whirlwind
The Whirlpool 4.8 cu. ft. Chrome Shadow Top Load Washing Machine is much larger inside than what it appeared to be from the outside. It holds an awesome amount of clothes since it does not have a center post. I used it to reclean some previous cleaned clothes and it deep cleaned them far better than my old standard washing machine. Its controls are easy to read and easy to start the wash. The built in faucet and brush are an added plus and come in handy but I got it for the awesome cleaning and the large drum. The color is also nice. You do not see your washer much but the pretty color is so much nicer than the old plain white ones. So now I have to get the matching dryer.

    Great Washer
Our washer was starting to act up so I selected a Whirlpool 4.8 cu. ft. White Top Load Washing Machine with Impeller and Water Faucet to replace our aging machine. This machine is 27.25" wide, 27.88" deep and 38.13" high. With the lid open it is 57.25" high. The top lid narrows slightly but is still around 26.5" wide. With the 4.8 cu ft capacity, we can easily wash our King size comforters and with an impeller instead of an agitator, you are less likely to damage or tangle bulky items during the wash. This is a HE (high efficiency) machine which means that the cycle times are noticeably longer than older machines. This machine has over 30 setting combinations! That's insane! You can customize every load now. The glass lid is an awesome feature; every since I was a kid I've always wanted to watch the laundry for some weird reason. Now I get to see the crazy fast spin cycle. lol. When using warm or hot water, condensation will buildup on the glass top. Due to this, we make sure to dry the lid and leave it open to not grow mold or odors. The water faucet is a nice feature to help with pretreating clothes before the wash. Just open the lid, press the silver button and the water will come out of the adjacent detergent tray. A nice bounce is the washer comes with a pretreatment brush which you can fill with detergent to scrub out stains before the wash. This washer is quieter than our old machine but it also makes higher pitched sounds when washing and agitating the clothes. Luckily we can close the laundry room door and the sound is silenced behind the door. Overall this is a very neat washing machine and would recommend to any family.

Awesome Washer With Stain Brush and HUGE Capacity
This is an exceptionally nice washing machine. The finish looks very high end and the huge smoked glass lid looks amazing. I really like the built-in stain brush. It is a small container of soap with push-button release that is so convenient. We have four kids, a garden, pets, etc. We ALWAYS have spots to take care of, and this brush puts what we need right at hand, along with the water faucet. The many buttons and options take about a week to get used to, and they are actually quite intuitive. Selecting the perfect cycle is very, very easy. See attached photo of the towels that came out of the first load–such wonderful capacity! It worked so well that we tried washing a king-sized comforter and it went very well. We are very, very impressed with this machine.

    Best Washer Ever!
The new large capacity Whirlpool washer I requested was delivered yesterday. Installing was very easy due to all the information the manufacturer packed with the washer. Besides being very nice looking, this washer is the quietest running unit ever! My wife immediately used it for the first wash load and pronounced it “awesome”! Do read the “quick reference guide” that Whirlpool Corporation has included as to the unit’s control panel. This guide details exactly how many different settings this washer has..up to 35 settings. This will make a change in how we sort our laundry from now on so as to take advantage of these settings.. which will save energy! I really am impressed by both the built-in faucet and the pre-treat brush features. Since I’m a DYI, my work pants were always a mess. This new washer is guaranteed to solve my dirty work clothes issue.. which was a source of contention for my wife. Also, the construction of this new washer is superb. It’s well made, sturdy, and stays right-in-place when spinning. Plus the large tub means my wife will be able to wash our bed comforter here at home, a task she’s finally(after 52 years of marriage) able to do. So to the Whirlpool Corporation and the designers of this spectacular Whirlpool 4.8 cu ft large capacity top loader washer, thank you so much for a great appliance! My wife and I will enjoy using this new unit for many years to come!

    Great Product
The Whirlpool 4.8 Cu. Ft. Wash Machine is ideal for a family. The Stainless Steel tub holds an abundance of clothes. This washer has the features to make your life simple. The easy to load top loading washer makes it a quick chore to do laundry. This washer has a pre-soak feature with a water dispenser inside the unit to pre-soak and remove stains with the built-in pre-soak stain treatment brush. The brush is held in under the washer cover in a convenient location for quick access while loading the washer. The connections are color coded for a simple installation. Red to hot water, Blue to cold water. This unit takes an ordinary receptacle, so there is no special outlet to install for power. The buttons and display are easy to understand with the numerous wash features that are available. The easy to use detergent loading drawer takes both detergent and fabric softeners in one place and they are completely clean after use with no soapy residue left behind. There are numerous and custom wash cycles to choose from with up to 36 different washing types. The color is clean and smooth and will look great in any wash room. Whirlpool quality and reputation backs this unit for a long lasting appliance. Delivery is simple and quick with installation taking about 5-minutes.

Great Washer with Lots of Features
The washer has a lot of features, including the water dispenser for scrubbing on stubborn spots before washing the item. There are many preprogrammed cycles that allow me to wash about anything, but it also lets you create your own cycle programs. The programs that are in it will set the wash temperature for you. I love the way the agitator is designed as it moves the water and clothes around much more without wearing out the material or tangling anything I wash. There is an option to increase the water level for when you have a bulkier load that needs it. There is also an option for a Quick wash which shortens the cycle for whatever you are washing. The tub is shallower than another washer I have. I can reach the bottom easy on this one; however it is a large capacity washer. This washer is also quieter so it won’t wake sleeping grandbabies. I like the soft close lid and won’t have slamming lids if I accidently let it slip from my fingers while closing it. I know this will sound dumb, but I like the area around the top of the top which is very smooth and makes it easy to keep it wiped clean. I haven’t needed to use the built in water dispenser yet, but the time will come for that. Just push a button and I can wet fabric right in the washer for hand scrubbing, which is a good thing to me, as we don’t have a laundry room sink. There is even a small scrub brush which stores right in the washer near the bleach dispenser. I like the detergent/softener as it pulls out further for filling than other washers. I like to fill these prior to adding clothes just in case I spill anything.

Like a front loader, only better...
The impeller agitation on this model is the main reason I got it. I'm looking forward to being able to wash and maintain my larger items, such as comforters, pillows, etc. And I've been told that this style washer is the best of both worlds; none of the problems that most front loaders have, and the ability to wash large items and keep an eye on them through the door. Pretty sweet. It seems like people are worried these impeller models won't clean as good as an agitator, but from what I can see, the water is moving around pretty forcefully. Seems like it should be okay to me. Time will tell. The wash tub is very large, and not just because the agitator is missing. Took much longer to fill, but the impeller runs on and off during the fill process, so that actually makes good use of the extra time to fill. Washer appears to do a good job of gradually dispensing detergent as it's filling, so no drops of pure detergent end up on any dry garments. This unit pretty much wants to take care of everything on its own. The settings you choose at the beginning before you start are pretty much the last thing you can do, other than pause the cycle. Going to take me a while to figure out how to totally control this thing, but so far, so good. I'm willing to see what it can do on its own. Seems like a really nice machine.

Easy to operate large compacity wash machine.
Whirlpool 4.8 cu. ft model WTW5100HC2 is just as functional as it is easy to use the control panel . the control panel is loaded with features but easy to understand . the bright center lcd display is wonderful . Whirlpool engineers thought this machine controls out for every day home owners . there 36 possible wash cycles and even a manual refillable pretreat brush dispenser. also a pull out tray to add your liquid laundry soap and fabric softener. the smoked glass locking lid is see though so if needed you can what's going on with your washing load . the machine is designed to allow for you to add or remove clothing if at the very start you were needed to before it locks . (so it's a delayed lock ) this machine also will do a pre-test before washing to make sure you a balanced wash load . will save on water by allowing you to select 6 washing cycle and is energy saving. my only negative is a one year warranty from Whirlpool .

    Good looking and great quality
We bought the matching dryer and waited for our son to pick up the old washer. Glad he did because this new model Whirlpool is a beauty and has so many added features our old one didn't have. We like the added feature to scrub out stains with the included little scrub brush. You can touch a button to have a deep wash with a higher water level plus another 24 buttons. I like that the water hose connections are at the top of the washer back and the drain hose near the bottom. The lid actually stays up and won't fall back down on you. Plus its a good looking machine. We definitely want to recommend this good looking Whirlpool washing machine.

    A new style of washer
A new style of washer, at least for me. You select whether you want a standard agitator, or gentler Impeller when you order the washer. I selected to give the Impeller a try since I don’t have kids or a job that heavily soils my clothes. This washer doesn’t have an agitator like a standard top loading washer has. Instead, it has a low-profile impeller in its place (See Photo). What this enables you to do is to load and unload the washer much easier than a standard agitator style washer because the agitator is not sticking up in your way. This also means less stretching the fabrics of your clothes, so your clothes will last longer, and probably less buttons pulled off from an agitator. What you give up for this is that if you have heavily soiled clothes, you’ll probably have to select a longer wash cycle to get them clean. The controls are very intuitive and easy to use (See Photo). You can even create up to 36 of your own wash cycles if you can’t find an existing wash cycle that meets your needs. Unfortunately, the control buttons all lack Braille for blind users. The Single Load Dispenser Drawer has compartments for your liquid or powder detergent (remove the tray for powder), and fabric softener (See Photo). The liquid bleach is added at the right front of the washer’s top (See Photo). You should only use laundry detergent that is labeled “HE” for use in High Efficiency washers. The dispensing drawer can be easily removed for cleaning. It has a gimmicky wash station (See Photo) with a little water faucet in the tub and a brush that you can fill with pretreat detergent to scrub the heavy stains you find on your clothes before you wash. But there’s no built-in tray to scrub on, so I’m not sure this feature is ever going to get used by me. It has a Delayed Start Option that allows you to set the time the washer will start. This allows you to load the washer and set it to run at a time when your electric rates are lower, if you live in an area that has variable electric rates depending on the time of day. But they only allow you to select up to 12 hours in advance for this feature. It has what Whirlpool calls an EasyView Full-Width Slow-Close Glass Lid. It’s a smoked glass lid the full width of the top of the washer. I do like the slow close feature which eliminates the annoying slamming of a top loading washer’s lid when someone is using it with wet hands. As far as the smoked glass, well, I have no need for it. It’s heavily tinted and you really can’t see through it anyway without opening the top. It just seems like I’m going to worry about dropping something off the shelf onto it and breaking it. It does open, and hold open at almost a full vertical position (See Photo). The 4.8 cubic foot wash basket is made from stainless steel which will never rust.

    Feature Rich Whirlpool Washing Machine
It was time to replace our 6-year old Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine. We wanted another Whirlpool washing machine as they have been proven to be reliable. We chose the Whirlpool 4.8 cubic foot top load washing machine model WTW5100HW. The tub features an impeller rather than an agitator which allows for very large loads of laundry, including king sized bedding. The control panel is feature rich with lots of cycle combinations. The tub also includes a built-in water faucet and scrub brush for doing pre-treatment of laundry. There is a convenient detergent and softener dispenser. The wash is very attractive and modern with a see through lid. We are looking forward to many years of service from this washer.

    A great washer
I like top loading washing machines like this one because I can leave the top cover open to allow the machine to dry out and reduce the chances of getting mold as there is no rubber gasket around the door like front loading machines. This machine has many options to meet most laundering needs that I can think of. This is an efficient washing machine that selects the correct amount of water needed but you can choose more water in cases of very soiled clothing that needs lots of water. You can also hand scrub collars and sleeves with the faucet inside the machine; this is very handy if you do not have a sink in your laundry room or even otherwise because you can do it right in the tub. There is also a pre-soak option This machine allows adding detergent, bleach and fabric softener into their separate drawer compartments that will get dispensed at the appropriate time during a wash.

    Best washer I have owned.
Today, I received my top load Whirlpool washer; it was easy to install and level. This washer has a large enough capacity but not so large that my wife can't reach the bottom of the tub to retrieve small items. This washer has a stainless-steel tub and a glass soft close lid. I like that the washer has many features, including a built-in faucet and pretreat brush, custom water levels that will allow you to fill the tub from low to three-quarters full, and automatic presoak for up to 120 minutes. I especially like the quick wash feature for lightly soiled clothes that wash your load in as little as 30 minutes; also, a convenient detergent/softener dispenser. This washer spins at up to 750 RPMs so that they dry quickly. Plus, with 36 different wash cycles, it is easy to customize wash loads. Overall, this washer is very quiet, vibration-free, and has an easy-to-work control pane. Plus, you can sanitize your clothes using the sanitize cycle that uses detergent and oxi additive.

Better than a smart washing machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] All these new machine come with smart options, Wi-Fi enabled etc. so happy this one doesn’t have any of that, you paying just for a great washing machine with out paying for all the extra stuff you might not want. Love that you can soak, coke with a small brush to spot clean, and you can run water into the machine to wash by hand or to rinse. Great washer
