[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m very pleased with the performance of this gas dryer although I took a star away due to an issue with the Door Catch Latch at the top of the door opening. As I load clothes into the dryer, I occasionally get a piece of clothing caught on the door latch at the top of the opening. So far it hasn’t caused any damage to my clothes, but I think designing it differently would alleviate the problem.

Love the light inside, love that it fluffs to prevent wrinkles, the lint trap is on the top and I would prefer it in the dryer just inside the door. I did not have trouble getting lint trap in and out like others have said. Nothing fancy and works great. Hoping it lasts gor many years being simple and without lots of options. It does what it needs, dries clothes and has temperature settings and a fluff mode.

We do not like the way the door opens down and is always in the way in our hallway and awkward to work around. The old style was better because it opened to the side and didn’t stick out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is the perfect dryer for me. Quite simple to use - all the features needed. The drop down door is very helpful while getting clothes in and out of dryer.

I had this a year, recently the dryer gasket tore my clothes it came off during a cycle wound up un my clothes. 300 dollars of my kids new school clothes destroyed. Customer service. Jumped through hoops on the phone to be told they don't have my info which is a lie.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought both a washer and this dryer when our old washer pump failed. Compared to our previous dryer, this is so much easier to load and to select temperature and time. It also has an unbelievably strong blower which is a must for our 24ft long dryer vent. We like the fact that that the door hinge is at the bottom edge, so it acts like a shelf when you're transferring laundry from the washer. And when the cycle is complete, instead of singing to you it lets out a short, loud buzz. Much more satisfying! We love our new washer and dryer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We really needed a new dryer and didn’t have the extra money for all of the bells and whistles however, this pairs perfectly with our Whirlpool washer we bought 2 years ago! We only buy Whirlpool. I wish we would have gotten the steam setting, but I love my new machine. It gives me extra time to get my clothes out without wrinkling.

DO NOT buy this dryer! Ours is 2 years old and it almost caught our house on fire! I will never buy another whirlpool product again! We have a whirlpool washer that isn’t much better!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a great purchase. I like the fact the door opens down, which makes it a lot easier to transfer wet clothes AND not have them hit the dirty garage floor. Love the end of cycle tone - it’s loud enough to hear in the house.

Now I am hoping to win the NEW washer as I am in need of a new one but that wasn’t in the budget. Hubby retires next year it would be great to win the washing machine as that is also worn out!

I picked this dryer over another brand because Whirlpool is Made in the USA. After 3 weeks, it stopped heating. I have had the thermal fuse, thermometer, and heating element replaced. My repair man is baffled. Since I didn't pay for the extra warranty, I am on my own unless I want to incur yet more repair fees. Also, the delivery was just okay. The guys left wrappers all over my driveway.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this swirl pull washer and dryer about a month ago period I am so impressed with the non agitator washer so much space and my clothes are so much cleaner than when I had the older unit with an agitator period I love the settings and all the options for any size load- auto sensor for water levels is awesome!!!

Only lasted 1 year 6 months than timer broke. They want 200 bucks part # (W10745655) plus technician fees 100 so about 345 after everything to fix a dryer that cost 550 so sad whirlpool used to be a great product I always bought and recommended them before but now i know better to never buy a whirlpool again. for only about 2 years use not worth it at all. DONT BUY!!!! pay a little more for a better brand and product.

Bought this a year ago from home depot. Motor is dead. Most likely a lemon. Wait to long for service. Just so inconvenient.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Attaching the power cord was easy, as I have done this before. Installing the adjustable legs was a bit of an issue, as the stamping on the bottom of the unit where the legs screw in was not quite right in two locations. This caused one of the adjusting legs to be damaged (see attached photo). Fortunately, I kept the adjusting legs from my old dryer and swapped the damaged one out. As to the operation of the unit, it works great: clothes dry quickly with no problems.

I have Model #WED5000DW2 and having it from Homedepot just over 5 years. The timer went out and it completely stopped working. I just had a service tech look at it and it needs a new timer and thermal fuse. He also mentioned that there are two grounds for the heater element, and it caused it to overheat in which it stopped working and could have been a FIRE HAZZARD. Service tech recommended for the cost of a new timer and thermal fuse that I am just better off getting a new dryer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve only had this for several months, and it seems to be working well I like the size of the drum on the inside. The only thing I’m not crazy about is the filter. When you pull it out seems like a lot of loose lint particles come across the dryer. Not a big deal but needs to be wiped off.

Since this started on fire, I’ll give it 1 star. Home Depot did nothing about it.

Dryer works fine. But, I've had it just under 2 years with normal use and the cord around the door is coming apart and fraying.
