My Review and recommendation will always be high for this store. I have been shopping at this Home Depot for the last 17 years. it is my neighborhood favorite store. And I will not have an employee change the good feelings I have for this store. I called this morning and spoke with a professional lady her name is Anna at hardware to make an inquiry about a miter saw stand. She located one and advised me that you will put it at the front desk with my name on it. she delivered and I thank her for that. When I arrived to pick up my item from the front desk, a lady by the name Mary who helped me in the past (Dry and lacks professional customer service). My experience with her, was disrespectful and rude to me in the past. I asked her, I am here to pick up the miter saw. the box is big and heavy, but I still have some more shopping to do. I asked her if I can leave the box to finish my shopping and then I will come back and pick it up and load it to the car. Right away, I noticed her unprofessional behavior and her suggestion to the problem was to take it load it to my car and come back and finish shopping. Then I asked her again and her recommendation was “Sir, you need to take it to the car, load it and then you can come back and shop again. A nice lady by the name Lisa, I believe she saw everything and heard the conversation. She came to me and she took the item and set it aside and she told me go ahead and finish your shopping. so, I did. when I came back after I finished shopping to pick up the item. Mary was at the counter, and I purposely did not seek her help. When I told the loader to meet me outside while I go bring my car. she made a gesture that it was obvious, she is mocking me” Oh my God here we go again. I asked her what that was for. Her respond was “nothing”. I told her, there is no need for that, at the end of the day I am a customer who gave you respect and expect the same from you. that is my story

Vicki and Marissa are the absolute best. They kept me from shopping the competitor. They should both get a homer award and be cashier of the month! I used to work at Home Depot for their service desk around 9 years ago, so I have always been loyal to Home Depot just from working there before. I recently purchased a house and have been going to Home Depot multiple times a week for the past 4+ months spending hundreds each time from do it yourself projects to an insane amount of plants. I am not a contractor, so even with the amount I spend, I realize I'm not as valued as the ones who spend thousands there weekly, but for the average person, I feel as though I make a fair contribution. Getting back on track though, I've been coming there weekly for several months now. I am always extremely polite as I worked at the service desk so I always try and be friendly and I have never once before today asked for a discount or special treatment or anything. Today however, the item I was wanting was the last one in stock and it was damaged. It was something I could fix, but it would take a few bucks to fix. So I figured I'd ask customer service if they would give a discount on the damaged item. The lady (I can't remember her name) was extremely rude and seemed aphauled I dare waste her time even asking for a discount. So I walked away, unsettled by her demeanor. This was something I needed though, so I decided to go ahead and get it, but told myself I would check out the competition as this particular interaction was very disappointing. Having previously held her same job title, I knew the way she acted was unacceptable. So I go to the check out counter, and the item I grabbed had a damaged barcode. So Vicki and Marissa worked with me to do a price check. While waiting, they were being very friendly and we were making small talk. During this time I had casually mentioned I was disappointed the item was damaged, but unfortunately, the service desk would not give a discount and it was the last one so I went ahead and got it. Both Vicki and Marissa agreed this was unacceptable and gave me a discount. Their kind disposition and willingness to go above and beyond is the reason I will be coming back next week, and the weeks to follow.

Kreyton, Cameron, & Vince P. are very exceptional employees who should be recognized on some level. Cameron greeted me at the lawn & garden with a motorized cart because I have severe arthritis in both knees & requested some come with a cart. The associate from lawn & garden called for the cart, & Cameron came. The beginning of my great store experience began the moment he approached me. He was pleasant & smiling, gave me accurate directions to the dept where I’d find the item I was there to purchase. I encountered Kreyton & Vince P in the dept. They assisted with putting the deep freezer on the cart, escorted me to checkout, & transporting the deep freezer from the store to the vehicle after purchase. I then ran into Cameron again, who accompanied me to the car so that he can bring the motorized cart back into the store without me having to concern myself with walking to the car from the store’s exit. All 3 of these gentlemen were such warm faces to see & meet. They made my shopping experience at The Home Depot very enjoyable. Although, it’s not near my home, I believe this will continue to be my “go to” store as I was very pleased with the way I was cared for while shopping the Cottleville store today. You guys wouldn’t understand how delighted I was to have these 3 guys assisting me! It made a world of difference. If the formula at Cottleville’s Home Depot was exercised at all of the stores, you’d have more grateful customers like me on a national scale! Working in the construction supply field I know their mark up is around %1000. For that kind profit margin I would hope for much better service. I would suggest you visit a smaller, independent contractor supply house and see what real customer service looks like. The worst experience I have ever had. I purchased a door almost 4 months ago that was supposed to take two weeks. I was told three weeks ago that the door would be installed on the 30th. Never given a time only a date. No follow up was made at all by anyone announcing what time to expect or reminding us of the install. We receive a call that morning saying the installer came by and we didn’t answer the door. We were home along with our two children. They also said we had received a call that morning on all of the number listed. This could not be further from the truth and I have phone records to prove it. Now we are being told it’s our fault and we will be put on another list and have to wait another month for a door that is over 3 months late.
